There are a couple of apparel pieces that I will admit to being a highly discriminating Snob about.Denim is one of them.With all the denim brands popping out every season there are many things you should pay attention to.Style and fit matter but higher on the scale is quality.Some of you are spending waaay too much on the wrong brands…Test this out,how many denim labels last enough to make into the vintage pile,How many have you had for 5 to 10 years?
One of the brands that has earned my respect and admiration is Atelier Ladurance created by Gerard Backx.The Label produces denim with a 40’s inspiration and amazing details like triple stitching ,vichy lining ,red for gals ,blue for boys in a little factory in Saint- Rémy de Provence

I stopped by the Members Only showroom yesterday to see what they had cooking and I gotta tell ya, I like, like, liked what I saw. The brand got a relaunch recently and while yes, the signature nylon bomber is still very much in effect, I gotta admit that I was most smitten by the Faux Five Pocket crop leggings:
^^Those pockets are painted on, thus the faux part. And check out the zipper detail on the back leg. The long versions on the other side….
Bob Bland’s Brooklyn Royalty Spring/ Summer 09 show was a success!,The room was crowded,the clothes were cool and the models were on point.
The show titled" Falling off the edge of Brooklyn" opened with swimwear and ended with a great bridal interpretation.The line ,mostly sporty can really be appreciated in the small details like frayed edges,intricate stitching and great jeans! we predict you’ll hear alot more of Bob Bland!

For S/S 09 Acne stays true to the minimal /modern aesthetic that make their fame with bold details like, a thick white stripe right down the middle of a pair of jeans managing to still look understated and classy.
M.O.B made its first ever appearance at Magic, showing its Spring 2009 line, which, unfortunately, I couldn’t photograph. BUT, take my word for it, it looks fantastic…..and wait ’til you see the bags! And I wasn’t the only one appreciating her line; her booth was BUSY!

The Swedes take their fashion seriously, I don’t know what ’s in the water but according to Sportswear Intl, the new prototype for the direction of men’s fashion is the hip swedish guy,(hooray!) the ladies do not dissapoint either,but we have been on to their style for a while.
One of the coolest new swedish brands as been of Course Cheap Monday ,(recently bought by H&M)who has my denim brand loyal self, add them to my roster, The denim is sturdy, well cut and friendly to a little more junk, the women there have curves ,check the next page for a look at what they cooked up for S/S 09.
