Chanel showed its Couture collection for Spring 2013, in Paris yesterday. What more can be said–it’s Chanel, seemingly never changing or timeless if you prefer. And up close no doubt the workmanship could cause one to become weak at the knees or even faint.

But I’m wondering as I look at this pics, to all our readers who are hair experts—are the models in wigs?? If yes, how on earth did they achieve such a natural look?

Dior Couture Spring 2013 runway, shown today during Paris Fashion Week, was fluid, fresh and yet still appropriately beholden to the archives; add in the popularity of newly installed designer Raf Simons plus a community anxious to see the storied Dior house return to respectability and it’s no suprise the critics are cooing, (not too mention stylists to the stars drooling). Which, good for Dior’s handbag and perfume sales going forward. They will probably improve compared to last year.

Unbelievable that there are people thinking about Christmas already, but WWD has just announced that Barney’s Madison Avenue will team up with Walt Disney for the coming holiday. For the festive season Barney’s windows will feature a three-dimensional electric light show featuring Disney’s most beloved heroes. A short film consisting of Disney characters walking the runway in the latest designer pieces also will be displayed in the windows. The campaign will be unveiled on November 14th.

As the image above shows, Chanel’s beauty team featured nail art on the label’s recent haute couture Autumn 2012-2013 runway! Some may wonder why such an event would be a big deal given the prevalence, even saturation of nail art, but it is simply because it’s the very great, iconic Chanel. And the truth is, as popular as nail art is, lots of designers still shy away from it, turn their noses up at it if you will and leave their runway girls’ nails clean and basic. But if the prissy yet somehow still hip Chanel embraces multi-colored nails, well then….a game-changing statement has been made.

Givenchy presented its haute-couture collection in Paris, this week, with a collection whose theme was leather and fur. I always feel a moment of hesitation posting haute images just because no image taken from this distance could do the garments justice. On the next page, see the same image from the back.
