Nike takes a more creative approach to its Autumn 2011 presentation by collaborating with female comic book artists Jan Duursema and Amanda Connor to create a “Make Yourself A Superhero” lookbook–an approach that takes the focus off of the celebrity athlete (which unfortunately there is a dearth of when it comes to females) and puts it squarely on the every day woman.

As for the artists, Duursema is known for her work on the Star Wars series and Connor has contributed to Mad magazine and has drawn for DC Comics’ Power Girl and Atlee.

We just posted up backstage images of Alexander Wang’s Spring 2012 show, as photographed by Julia Chesky and asked readers to identify the sneakers being worn by model Hanne Gaby Odiele, and Chesky herself let us know that they’re by Isabel Marant. Photographer Julia Chesky was a fan of the all-white outfit model Hanne Gaby Odiele wore to the Alexander Wang spring 2012 show and so are we.  Do tell us, sneakerheads….what are the kicks she’s wearing?

Converse does it again with a All Star “Hunting” pack, which features the all time great canvas shoe highlighted by classic hunting prints.

Vans reached out to Disney for a women’s collaboration and not surprisingly the young-at-heart (not to mention furry) Minnie Mouse was chosen to represent. Lord knows she deserves another pair of shoes in her closet besides those weird over-sized pink pumps she’s been wearing for basically ever. Now at least she’ll have something to change into after posing with tourists at the park all day. As for detailes, these are a Japan exclusive that will launch October 7th. Via Espionagekicks.
