Reebok Classic Chi-Kaze - Steel-Flat Grey-Sonic-Green-Black - profile

The big athletic shoe companies are starting to sit up and take notice of the uptick in popularity of sneakers among females. Reebok joins the party with the Chi-Kaze (pronounced “she-kaze”), a female version of its Kamikaze III, launched earlier this year in collaboration with Swizz Beatz.  Available at Journey’s in December.

You’re looking at the grey colorway here and on the next page there are more angles of the same shoe, plus a black and pink version.

Front Magazine Ft. Girly Model Kitty Lea

FrontDecKittyLea 380x540 Front Magazine Ft. Girly Model Kitty Lea

Now how in the heck did this Front magazine slip under my radar until now? Apparently it’s a rag dedicated to the streetwear generation and every issue features a hot babe, often decked out in kicks and brands like Supreme, Obey and that ilk.

We’re all for it, seems like a fun mag, but can’t help but deeply feel the irony given that the women’s streetwear movement is pretty much down to its last gasps. So many conversations we at HS have had with women frustrated by the lack of brands capable of creating compelling streetwear product for the ladies. It’s like this gaping chasm that never seems to be filled. And while it’s fun to watch the guys place dress up with gorgeous babes (talking to you, Ronnie Fieg!), darn, we sure do wish for more of a “female gaze” where this genre is concerned. Via Animal (yo Tabatha!)

More images of the smokin’ hot Kitty Lea on the next page.

The Lake & Stars x Nike Air Force 1

Via Refinery we learn lingerie brand The Lake & Stars is collaborating with Nike on an Air Force I, which has to be on some top-ten list in terms of unexpected partnerships. In this image, one of the The Lake & Stars designers is working with Nike employee Weston on choosing the color and detailing for the custom pair so it’s highly unlikely that you’re seeing the finished shoe as opposed to a an office sample used to work against in building the collaboration.

The shoe is being built for the The Lake & Stars pop up store, which is set to launch on November 10th. The slight hitch with the pop-up we learned from Racked yesterday, is the sponsoring organization, BOFFO, used up all it’s money on Nicola Formichetti’s pop up and may not have enough cash to do any more pop ups. One hopes it all works out–wanna see the sneakers!

TerrenceKoForfex1 Terrence Koh x Forfex Fur High Tops

Artist Terrence Koh collaborates with Italian sneaker brand Forfex and Opening Ceremony on these fuzzy white high tops, which have been deemed “Bunny Boots.” On the OC blog, Forfex’s Gio Forbice interviews Koh and here is what he had to say about the shoes:

GF: Do you remember how bunny boots started?
TK: yes we were in the park in istanbul and we were both looking at the full moon and thought we should make all white boots about bunnys that live inside the moon.

On the next page, see the white moon boots that are part of the same collabo.

Vans x Jesse Jo Lookbook Holiday

VansxJesse Jo (2)

Vans teams up with musician and muse Jesse Jo on a second collection, featuring cut-offs, jean jackets, cropped tops, fanny pack, backpacks, sox and even boy undies. Jo has been labeled the anti-it girl and indeed she does fly under the radar, which is kind of a nice–leave a little room for some mystery for a change.

See the rest of the lookbook on the next page, including a very neat blue velour mini dress with a cut out back.
