From the “Never Too Much” Luther Vandross school of thought, Christian Louboutin serves up another sneaker preview (above) from the men’s Autumn 2010 line, which layers studs on top of leopard pony skin. Sumptous like a hot fudge sundae! –More images at Highsnobiety

Leah McSweeney and Married to the M.O.B. are baaaack, with another collaboration with Reebok, the first one with Colette, which famously sold out in less than 30 minutes. This one feature the all time classic Reebok Freestyle in a style called “Dubble Bubble.” The shoe has a suede upper in cobalt blue, pig suede lining, plus a rose gold Married to the M.O.B. logo pin on the outside of each shoe. Inside the tongue reads “We stay laced since 1982.” On the design, this time around McSweeney says she wanted a more grown and lux shoe, “The last Reebok I designed with Colette was a little more playful and I wanted to do something a little more grown up this time.” The shoe launches November 1st and can be picked up for 100 beans at Karmaloop and Michael K on the East Coast and Undefeated and PickYourShoes on the West Coast. I’m assuming brick and mortar shops only. A couple more shots on the next page.

In the ongoing depate over whether the Asian-influenced Louis Vuitton runway collection would actually appeal to Asians (ignoring the fact that it will probably barely hit stores), one Hong Kong socialite gives the LV runway the thumbs up, while a consultant says it was too heavy-handed. Well that solves that! –WSJ
In more debate news, among black women, “going natural” gains steam but, naturally, not without some good ole “good hair” controversy. Cocoandcreme.
Kicking ourselves for not being able to slot the launch of the Vans X MadeMe shoe collabo into our schedules, but ahh well, that is neither here nor there. More importantly, the shoes are quite adorable, carrying that distinct design flavor of MadeMe designer Erin Magee (the collection is called ”Life Is A Mystery,” a tribute to Magee’s adored, Madonna) and even better, you can buy them now in the MadeMe store for 70 beans–nice! Featured styles are the Camryn and the Wellesley. More looks after the flip.
We found via graffiti artist TooFly that our pals at Femalesneakerfiend are working on publishing “Girls Got Kicks,” a book featuring female sneaker lovers from around the globe. The book will feature a combination of shots by Amanda Lopez (who shot TooFly above) plus images sent in from collectors. Lopez and Lori Lobenstine, founder of FSF, were recently interviewed by Sneakerfreaker and Lobenstine had this to say about women who collect, “It’s pretty easy to like kicks if you’re a guy. But if you’re a girl with a sick collection you’re going to face-down some folks who really doubt you. So I love female sneaker fiends for that glint in their eye, that swagger in their step and the extra knowledge they have to have for when guys assume they don’t.” Yes, we agree! And on that note, were any of you remember our pre-HS days when we were known as Chickswithkicks??
Skater, video documentor of life and all around appealing person, Levi Maestro got together with her Downtown dopeness, Vas$htie, as part of his “Maestro Knows” show with the purpose of introducing her recently launched Jordan collabos to the world. Thoroughly adorable and a nice capture of the more charming aspects of life in New York City. Via Highsnobiety.
On the heels of its first-time collabo with a female, that being Vashtie, Jordan is showing previews of some more product for the ladies that will rollout during the holidays. And I have to say, of all the many pairs of kicks I have owned, it’s hard to belive I’ve never owned a pair of this colossal brand. One of these days that has to change. Five more pairs after the flip.
Asics and Sanrio Hello Kitty have come together again for a limited edition offering that will arrive just in time for the holidays. While at the Capsule trade show Tuesday, we of course visited Claw to see what the brand was up to. This ultra-awesome Claw key chain leaped out and were suprised to discover that it’s not new and has been in the Claw store for a minute. Nice, right? Especially since it has a weaponish feel to it. On the other side, the “Clawingdales” tote from Claw’s Autumn 2010 collection and a look at a tee from the Spring 2011 line.
For all those who are not aware of who Vashtie is or what she does I’m sure you recognize her face. She is an all round creative who has worked with people like Pharrell and Lupe Fiasco. Better know for her directing skills, Vashtie has made her way into the fashion industry with her brand, Violette, and has been honored with being the first female to ever design a Jordan. Her signature Violet touch has been used as the colorway for the Air Jordan 2 which I’m sure will be a collectors items. So ladies and gents get queuing around the block for these exclusive joints. Release date Ocotber 2. Images from Kicksonfire via Vashtie. More on the flip. AK.
