Phillip & David Blond AKA The Blonds are known in Hollywood for creating corsets for the likes of Rihanna, Katy Perry, Christina Aquilera, and Britney Spears (check out the outrageous star covered number in the insert of her latest album). Whimsical and decadent, their line is is what girlie girl dreams are made of. For Spring they present us with plenty of their signature corsets as well as cocktail dresses in cotton candy colors that are just dripping in sequins, feathers, and other delicious embellishments. The line is currently sold by private inquiries through their website and at Patricia Field in New York.

The celebs came out last night to attend the opening of TopShop in Manhattan. Our fave (from a style perspective) ”Gossip Girl,” Taylor Momsen attended a VIP dinner at Balthazar, dressed in a cropped leather jacket paired with a bright pink skirt. Sultry and sexy!

Santigold performing at Ultra Music Festival in Miami

This is the second image I’ve come across in less than a week’s time that Santigold has been photographed wearing a jumpsuit. She seems to like a baggier sort of fit, which bugs me a little. I could see this as an item to wear during a spring day hanging out in Brooklyn, but not as a performance piece.

Have always had a thing for Christina. Back in Chris’s early days when it was her versus Britney, I was always Team Aguilera. After she got married and had her baby, I appreciated her even more because she didn’t do what a lot of women do, which is go through that period of I-am-the-Virgin-Mary, boring sanctimonious stage (and yeah, Madge, I’m talking to you though you finally came around), as if being a bad-ass and a Mom are somehow mutually exclusive. Christina, bless her sagitarrian heart, always knew better–that if you embrace it, being a Mama has the potential to make you that much slicker of a human being.

One more shot of Christina in a pair of distressed denim jeans after the flip. I’d love to rip them off her body for myself but the truth is they probably wouldn’t even fit as arm warmers!

I posted an image from Lily Allen’s Bust magazine photo shoot yesterday and commented that she looked “sort of hot, right?” I used the qualifier “sort of,” to be honest, ’cause I’ve always seen Lily as being adorable, but in a very girlish sort of way. Seeing her as sexy almost seems, I don’t know, wrong! But clearly Ms. Allen, who is shown here at a recent London performance, is showing a more mature side lately, going from vampy fun girl to grown-ass vixen right before our very eyes!  P.S. I love the distressed denim track shorts she’s wearing in these images! P.S.S. In the images after the flip, she’s wearing a cropped leather jacket, which you can buy a similar facsimile (it’s faux leather) from Urban for probably a lot less than Lily paid.

WWD released some sketches of the costumes Thierry Mugler is working on for Beyonce’s upcoming world concert. No doubt it will be a very polished and tight set of looks. That being said, I for one will half miss Beyonce’s Mom’s doing the fashion direction. Granted she’s often over the top and too informed by her Southern-Belle-trashy-prom-queen sensibilities, but at the very least she’s entertertaining and more likely to inspire comment than anything an experienced, top designer creates. I mean, Mugler is talking about this collection being about the “duality between being a woman and a warrior,” and I’m like, okay really? And that theme aint worn out like an old man’s suit??

Lily is on the cover of Bust magazine and she looks adorable. Above is one of the images from her photo shoot. Sort of hot, right?

Rihanna was spotted recently house-hunting in Los Angeles. Check out the studded lapel on her blazer, which features the latest in angular, yet still oh-so-subtle shoulder pads. I love how she hooked it up with a pair of rolled-up boyfriend shorts. And you can’t see in these shots, but she was sporting a pair of sky-high heels. As for RihRih’s new doo, not only cute, but hmmm, when us women change up our hair style dramatically, what’s that usually a sign of?
