There is something irresistible about the combination of a rugged looking boot  with a sexy heel. Kind of like a man rocking a scruffy  unshaven look with a sharp suit. Think Javier Javier Bardem at the Oscars, Biutiful… Available at browns.

Not usually a big fan of the wedge heel on boots. Isabel Marant’s Amely however , has all the right elements to go from boring to unique. Via net-a-porter.

Creative Recreation for women used to be a sneaker line, but when ladies took a step back from the kicks trend, the brand went back to the drawing board and decided to relaunch it as Creative Recreation Select for a more grown customer. We’ve been seeing it at our various visits to the independent trade shows and liked a lot of what we saw so it’s nice to see it finally make it to retail. The above 3-in-1 boot is called the “Morentina Hi” and you can find it at Endless. Othere styles are being sold at 80spurple and Shopnastygal.

Japanese designer Jun Takahashi offers a red plaid, knee-high boot under his Undercover label. Given the heel it’s an interpretation that winks at the outdoor-inspired heritage looks that have been so popular among the guys this season. Via Zozo.

For the Spring 2011 season Timberland introduces a set of new safari-inspired styles under their Earthkeepers label. The collection of breathable, rugged footwear is made of the newly-launched  Bionic canvas,  a unique material made from organic cotton wrapped around a recycled core, making it stronger than regular canvas, plus water and stain repellent. Newly arrived at Ssense  is the “Mallory”  zip-off boot by Loeffler Randall, a brand whose  commercial success is a great example of line extension and straight to the point  e-tailing,  showcasing their full product range. On the next page a closer look at the  lust worthy boots.

We posted the perfect shoe for Spring 2011 by Celine last week, and now Popbee is giving us an expanded view of the collection. As with that shoe, we’re seeing a collection whose theme is artful balance of slick and serene, like the rflective metal heel on the sandal shown here played against the natural tan and thick leather straps on the upper. The bags, many of which play hemp against contrasting leather strips and stud details, convey the same message–laid back but with bite.

Erdem Moralioglu founded the Erdem label in 2005 and made  a name for himself by designing beautiful silk prints and impecable tailoring. For the Autumn 2010 season he worked in collaboration with our beloved Nicholas Kirkwood on a hiking silhouette featuring a tye die silk print and a high heel. Oh so lovely!
