Catherine Malandrino Shoes & Accessories

 Catherine Malandrino Shoes & Accessories

We visited Catherine Malandrino’s showroom last week and got a look-see at both her Malandrino and Catherine Malandrino lines. Designer Malandrino’s talent, which we appreciate greatly, is her ability to design garment after garment that subtly celebrates the power of grown-woman sexiness. The designs are complex yet somehow still easy and relaxed. While there, we snapped images of the shoes and some of the accessories for Autumn 2011. Malandrino takes some very current silhouettes, but makes them special with braided leather. See more on the next page.

Jeffrey Campbell Lookbook Spring/Summer 2011

JeffreyCampbellSpringSummer2011 (72)

Shot against the backdrop of a sleepy U.S. town whose glory days are in its past, the Jeffrey Campbell shoes featured in this Spring/Summer lookbook look right at home, inspired as they are from the vintage racks. Still, much like the always modern blue skies that fill the pictures, JC’s shoes stay current via the brand’s signature over-the-top platforms and wedges, slashing leather straps and distinct color stories. Tons more on the next page.

Melissa ‘Time Code’ Collection Autumn 2011

Melissa (1)

Melissa showed an Autumn 2011 collection, titled “Time Code,” with each style name after ways we spend our time: “Kissing,” “Waiting,” “Making,” etc. What’s different  and exciting about the brand is all the new material offerings. The pumps on this page are still “plastic dreams,” but during the manufacutring process, a velvet material is blown on the shoe, resulting in a lightweight and waterproof shoe. And since velvet is having a moment, we are loving it. Many more styles on the next page including a convertable fur rain boot and another Alexandre Herchcovitch collaboration, this time a super neat Beatle boot. There are also menswear-inspired oxfords and for the first time sneakers! More on the next page with all images via Highsnobette.

Swedish Hasbeens Autumn 2011

SwedishHasbeens (2)

We were wondering if Swedish Hasbeens would stay forever a clog company and much to our delight we discovered in a visit to its booth a Magic’s Platform show that it’s added new profiles for Autumn 2011. The retro feel is still there and much like a well-edited vintage store, the tassled loafers (above), lace-up military boots with sheepskin lining and pull on boots with gum soles (!) all very much have a what’s next feel to them. And don’t worry, clogs remain a mainstay, featuring new colors and treatments. More on the next page. All images via Highsnobette.

Palladium ‘Lite’ Introducing The Summer Boot

PalladiumSpring2011 (5)

Summer weight boots will be a big item this summer, and given Palladium’s heritage canvas materials story, we expect it to be at the forefront of this trend. The summer style the brand is featuring is called “Lite,” because, simply put, it’s the lightest boot the company has made in its 60-year history. Here is one image from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2011 lookbook, which as always is well styled and shot. See the rest on the next page. Photos courtesy of Palladium.

Best ‘Best Of….2010′ Fashion Lists!

AcclaimMag Best Best Of....2010 Fashion Lists!

Acclaim magazine editor Alex Weiland wearing Vans X MadeMe kicks, a best-of-2010 pick

A lot of our favorite sites have put together their favorites from the year 2010 and we’ve rounded up the ones we enjoyed the most, generally because we mostly agree though the difference of opinion  is sometimes the funnest part!

Refinery likes lists and did a great one on “Best Fashion Ads” and a worthy one of “Best And Worst Dressed Celebs.” The celebs it chose wouldn’t be our picks, but it opened our eyes to some actresses we normally don’t watch, but now will.

We like MTVstyle because we share  an interest in the intersection of music and fashion and we agreed with just about everything on its “Best Bags & Accessories List.” It also did a “Most Memorable Shoes,” which was equally delish.  And while she annoys on occassion with her antics (bare ass anyone?), MTVstyle’s “Lady Gaga’s Top Looks” reminds that she is a fashion force to be reckoned with.

Us Snobettes may seem all about the superficial but our day jobs are dedicated to the business side of fashion, thus our love affair with BOF’s “Top 10 Articles For 2010.” and on that note we also like BNET’s “Ten Biggest Fashion Faux Pas In 2010.” Though nothing on GAP’s failed logo change?

We’ve already covered the political maneuvering in “Tommy Ton’s 2010 Best-Dressed List,” but no matter it’s still a great list and the photos, natch, are great to look at.  As an employee of the same company as Ton, Anna Del Russo’s “Ten Best Dressed Of The Year,” picks had the potential to be just as political but she deftly sidestepped the issue by focusing on celebs, who make us feel like we’re curled up in front of a fire, drinking hot cocoa as we nod our head in agreement with her.

And where would a blog that used to be called Chickswithkicks be without a list devoted to sneakers?? In a lot more foot pain that’s for sure. As such, we bring you Sneakerfreaker’s “Best Of The Best 2010,” with a double woot-woot for all the ladies who had a say on the list and especially MadeMe’s inclusion by Acclaim magazine’s Alex Weiland (see image above)!

Pucci The Lace Up Pucci Boot

Fashionising highlights the lace-up, suede Pucci boots that had us drooling during the Spring 2011 shows. Truely, if there were a sicker boot or shoe shown on the runway that season, we didn’t see it.

I fell in love with the Burberry shearling boots  this fall and have seen other brands try to imitate their fabulousness and of course fall short. This flat version is perfection. Oh  the comfiness. Via Pixiemarket.
