If you want to keep your finger on the pulse of contemporary African American art, and a touch of diaspora, Studio magazine is your best bet. Published by The Studio Museum in Harlem, the biannual publication always covers the latest artists coming down the pipeline through the museum’s coveted artist-in-residence program – alongside historical, legendary and of the moment art world tastemakers.
First published in 2005, members, donors and supporters of the museum receive Studio magazine as a mail subscription. Visitors to the museum can pick up a copy free of charge. An archive of current and past issues can be found on the museum’s website and, more recent issues can be viewed online at Issuu.com.
