If you don’t adore legendary lensman for the NY Times Bill Cunningham it’s probably only ’cause you don’t know who he is. He’s been doing his "On the Street" photography column for the paper forever, which is, hands down, the best part of the Time’s fashion coverage. This past week he did his totally on-point column on the piping-hot fashion trend of "spidery" high heels combined with short dresses. He also talks about the demise of handbags as the centerpiece of the outfit.  It’s a must-see.

In looking around at everyone’s coverage of NY Fashion Week, I stumbled across fashion photographer Sonny’s coverage of the Rodarte show. And all I could think was, wow, how’d I miss this?? The shoes, the leggings(!), the dresses(!!). I mean, you know how sometimes you see something and your eye feels a little startled and you get that butterfly feeling of excitement ’cause you know you’re seeing something that is a glimpse of what’s next? That’s how Rodarte’s collection felt. And their  leggings? Everyone else’s just officially got left in the dust.

I got my "I Heart-Shaped Doorknocker Earring NY" tote bag this week from Julie at Bubblegum Ponys and I just wanted to say I love it. Look how cute it is:

And you don’t have to sit there and be jealous of me, you can go buy one at BubblegumPonys shop.  There are a bunch of different colors and it’s only $20 or two for $30. Considering how flairful it is that is a total bargain!

Altough Proenza Schouler’s Spring 09 line did not have me doing cartwheels , the footwear was definitely worthy of mention.I found the Fur detail to be a little fall-ish tough don’t you agree?

I popped by the ColetteXGap store earlier today to see what all the hype was about. There wasn’t tons of people in there–as you can see from the images–but the people who were there all seemed fairly fashionable. The space was smaller than I expected, as was the number of product offerings, but I’m guessing this is a quality over quantity situation. As well, there isn’t much there that’s cheap and some things, like a $24 bottle of blue nail polish, caused me some to mentally reach for my heart Frand-Sanford style. But oh well, it’s Colette so it’s worth it, right?

So what’s left? I’m told that certain things like the Longchamp bags are sold out and will NOT be returning. There’s less certainty about other items. For example, the Claw collabo tee was there and is now gone (sob!), but the women working the register weren’t positive if those would be restocked. They said there was a new shipment coming that evening, but they had no idea what it would include. And while it was quiet there on a Wednesday evening, no doubt it will get quite packed on the weekend. One employee told me that on the first day when she arrived there was a line around the block and it was still there when she left not long before closing.

HP partnered with world-renowned designer Vivienne Tam to create the must-have digital clutch for fashionistas. The new Vivienne Tam Edition notebook is the ultimate convergence of fashion and technology.

The outcome is a fashionable version of a small HP laptop, that one might actually mistake for a clutch bag. The laptop has been seen as an accessory in the recent Vivienne Tam fashion show.

I like Tory Burch. She’s doesn’t make my heart leap, but I respect her ’cause she knows her lane, stays right in it and delivers the goods every time. I see her as the new millennium Donna Karan in that she understands and is perfectly in sync with the mindset of the aspirational Manhattan female. To my vegan /anti leather HighSnobette’s  I apologize, But I must praise the oh so hotness of Matthew Willamson’s spring 09 line and bow down to the match  made in heaven combo of neon leather and snakeskin….WOW!what else can I say…
