Featured earlier this month, enjoy a closer look at additional silhouettes and colors  of the Marimekko and  Converse collaboration launching next month. Marimekko and Converse teams up  with Chuck Taylor’s on a collection of  sneakers  for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2013 season. The collection features Marimekko prints by Maija Isola and Maija Louekari available in Chuck Taylor All Star and a brand-new silhouette, Chuck Taylor All Star Platform.

The new Converse x Marimekko collection will be available from March 2013 at selected Marimekko stores, premium retail outlets and online at www.converse.com.

Looks like there are more canvass sneaker styles to come from the Converse collaboration with Finnish design house Marimekko, and this one includes “the most famous Marimekko Marimekko print of all time, the Unikko [poppy] design, originally from 1964 by Maija Isola, to which her daughter Kristina Isola has created a new coloring and scale for the Converse shoes.” Look for this to hit retail June 23rd. Jack Purcell had a wife and her name was Helen. This Converse shoe was designed in her honor. The signature smile on the front cap is still there, but the tailoring is slimmed down for a woman’s more delicate foot. ”Helen”  is available at retail now in the wildly popular Marimekko print, plus three more solid colors.

Yesterday we showed nail art designer Sophy Robson’s feature with Elle, today a manicure she did for Love magazine. Ooof, this woman is packing when it comes to creativity! One more angle after the flip.

UPDATE: Excellent lifestyle blogger LauraSofiakoski points out in the comments that this pattern is the classic “Unikko” pattern from Finish design company Marimekko. The very delish Ms. Sofiakoski knows a thing or two about nail art. Go check out her “Zipper” nails, which we may just have to devote an entire post to!

UPDATE No. 2: We contacted Sophy and asked her about the Marimekko connection and how the design was inspired. This is what she had to say:

“You are right it is based on Marimeko! The fashion editor I was working with for Japanese Vogue that day was Katie Grand and she asked me to do daisies on the nails. As I had previously worn Murakami daisy manicures on myself, I thought that was what she wanted but it turned out I had read the message wrong. So I quickly looked up Marimekko designs and that is what I came up with. It was easy for me to do as the daisies are bold, block colours.”
