Driving A Chevrolet Sonic Hatchback 2012
Regular readers might know that I live a double life, half fashion lover, half baseball obsessed. Those two worlds collided a couple weeks back when GM afforded us the chance to test out a 2012 version of its Chevrolet “Sonic” hatchback. Perfect timing it turns out because I had to spend my weekend driving back and forth from a tournament about an hour and change from HighSnobette’s headquarters in Brooklyn.
The brightest shade of orange you can imagine, the “Sonic” was my loveable tangerine on wheels throughout, happily transporting a car full of big boys and their equipment to and from the events. In size and spirit it reminded me of a Cooper Mini, with lots of road-hugging ability and zip. My one small gripe is that it wasn’t the easiest to parallel park because of a some looking-back-over-the-right-shoulder-visibility issues. Overall though lots of fun and a great city vehicle because of its size and pick up.
