As an ode to our shared admiration of a good pair of sneakers when I was  invited by New Balance to design our own US 574,  the first goal was to  keep things classic. Having my  share of super-color-filled kicks I really wanted to make something in burgundy, which was not available but then there was that grey. A grey pair of New Balance was at  some point  part of many college guys wardrobes  along with cargo shorts (Abercrombie if you had it like that), a t-shirt and  a fitted baseball cap with the tongue curved  down ( sound familiar?) . Anyway these lovelies can be seen as slightly menswear inspired with a pop of neon, the words “siempre amor” (love always) embroidered on the heel as a reminder that  as a motivation, a guiding force in anything in life  love always wins… More angles on the flip. Whimsical and feminine in a shade of pink that I never would think of wearing until now (I’m expanding my color horizon as we speak) this dreamy wonder available at Free People caught my eye as a contender for a great  dress. A lover of all things vintage, fashion blogger Jasmin Rodriguez of Vintage Vandalizm fame puts it all together for the Thanksgiving Day holiday with a golden era of Hollywood-inspired look that is thoroughly modern. Nails, hair and makeup–all 100 percent did and on point.

The very frank editor of Italian Vogue, Franca Sozzani, graces the cover of this month’s Industrie magazine. She’s styled by Katie Grand and photographed by Terry Richardson. Among the Vogue editors you’d have to give her the year in terms of the buzz she created with her Vogue Black and Vogue Curvy blogs, plus her very own blog, which often includes controversial takes on subjects ranging from John Galliano to the NY Times and the Pope.

As part of her Miami pop-up shop, Mara Hoffman worked with photographer Spencer Tunick to create some images celebrating the event. Tunick is known for his work snapping shots of nude people in public spaces and here he poses them in front of the Airstream trailer that will serve as Hoffman’s store space. It so interesting isn’t it how different naked bodies look when they’re not perfectly lit and styled.

If there were a top-ten collabo list, this one would be among the top three.

Mara Hoffman launches her first pop-up store with a bang–out of an 1964 Airstream trailer in Miami, during Art Basel week (December 1-4). The shop will feature her own 2012 swimwear line plus a limited edition (15 each) line of bathing suits and leggings–see sneak peeks above–done in collaboration with artists Javier Piñón, Spencer Tunick, John Newsom, Eddie Martinez and Maya Hayuk.

To celebrate the launch of the iconic Jordan retro 3’s Haus of Lacquer cooked up her version of the sneakers  cement pattern. Definitely a ‘nail art do’.
