We showed model Hanne Odiele wearing Isabel Marant sneakers backstage prior to walking the Alexander Wang show during New York Fashion Week, and now with Beyonce spotted in them for her “Love On Top” video, we can officially declare them the hottest kicks in the game. Very good luck purchasing them anywhere but Ebay as they are said to be 100 percent sold out.

Definitely on my list to rock are the latest “Ankara” print inspired nails by Illustrated Nail. Tough to pick a favorite, see other set on the flip.

At one point in my life, Daisy Duke was a hero, right along with Jem, She-Ra and G.I. Jane. Needless to say in real life , apparel that had a super hero quality always had my heart. This past summer from what we’ve seen in our neck of the woods, Daisy would have been proud as women all over New York City  have embraced  the denim cutoffs with passion. Seeing the trend play out was kind of amazing. Standing on any given corner of downtown New York it was almost like  seeing a uniform worn  in unlimited variations.

On the shopping side   fashion houses like Balmain  heard the love loud and clear  and provided their  “Daisy Dukes De Luxe’  while other labels like Bitching Junk Food  took the customization route using of course the iconic Levi’s to create unique cutoffs. It’s getting colder but the look is still surviving with tights(!) Cannot wait to see how they do next summer.  The photo above by  Steven Meiers (cdfd) kind of tells the story pretty well…

Loving the print and perfectly fall appropriete coloway of the “Aztec” pack to be released for holiday. While the collection includes a Blazer low and a skinny Dunk  for the ladies, the Blazer mid stands out as a favorite. We recommend swapping the white  laces for leather ones for an earthier look. Hot off the press Vashtie gives us a look at her “Trini” inspired  Violette New York Autumn/Winter 2011:

“Violette New York’s ‘Rude Boy Yute’ collection was inspired by my Trinidadian heritage. After a couple of recent trips there, I was compelled to create pieces that represented the culture in a subdued and fashionable manner. I used common iconography in West Indian households and added a touch of pop to them – a can of Ackees, a bag of Curry, a Carib bottle cap, etc. My Caribbean people are known for their color and vibrancy, but I decided to focus on making the line as monochromatic as possible like some of the flag shirts. It was a way to make the pieces accessible to anyone, despite your country of origin.

Bold and colorful, Florian’s Spring 2012 accessories  titled “Eccentric Ecstasy” can be worn solo (as a one word statement) or  piled on excessively (saying many things at once). I tend err on the side of the latter which may be a wee bit eccentric so but I  embrace it. Take a closer look on the flip, some pieces are available at OC.

A great belt–the one you go back to over and over again, that looks better and better the longer you have it. The “Joplin” is that kind of belt.
