The days of sneakers as style nevereally left, however  as Lois pointed out in one of our intense “trend analysis talks,” we definitely see it coming back to the forefront. Not even like a  guided/pushed  trend but more of a natural cycle. After the sky high heels , platforms, demure ballerinas,  grandma sandals, clogs, next in line is le sneaker. Editor and celeb-fave Dolce & Gabbana managed to turn up the heat on the summer straw bag by shrinking the silhouette to clutch size, adding gold link straps and offering them in shiney shades of red, blue and gold. Deelish!

Alexander Wang’s menswear collection recently had its exclusive launch at Barney’s, and the department store’s creative ambassador (interesting title!), Simon Doonan, had a chat with Wang on the offerings and who he had in mind as a customer when he created his designs. But the most revealing part of the interview is not about the clothes but the conditioner Wang uses to keep his locks so enviably luxurious. According to Wang he doesn’t use conditioner and appears to be a part of the anti-shampoo brigade, opting for a brand called No-Poo.  Such a Downtowner at heart that Wang is.

Spring 2012 brings tropical prints to Osborn Design’s signature oxford silhouette as well as ballerinas, and slip-ons. A peek of what we spotted at  Capsule on the flip.

Without apology or irony Nasir once again is inspired by and pays tribute to up-from-the-street fashion for his Spring 2012 collection, this time with athletic-inspired looks leaping to the forefront. Commenting on his collection, designer Nasir Mazhar tells Vogue U.K:

“I’m showing people that if you’re into grime, why does that have to be dismissed? It’s a style. I’m trying to show that there’s this whole UK scene in London that’s really inventive and original. I’m trying to make people aware of one of the last subcultures. This season we’ve done four menswear outfits and I really like the tracksuit. It’s the beginning of us doing menswear, moving on from just accessories and hats.”

UPDATE: The top boss, Sharmadean, at WAH nails checked in and of course the art was done by her salon. She and Nasir are long-time buddies and she has collaborated with him in the past. When I asked her about the show’s nail art design theme, she explained, “We did glitters with tiger stripes. It was meant to be London street kids on a Caribbean holiday!”

The fact that Supreme has finally landed in London, is a fairly major deal. Naturally a party was thrown to celebrate and natch, the WAH Nails gals were in attendance and representing!

Gucci for Milan Fashion Week took a turn toward its more classic/elegant side and as such there wasn’t much to sink one’s teeth into where accessories were concerned. That being said, the sandals featured here were completely amazing as were some tres chic shimmery, clutches featuring gold chain details and tassels.
