Madonna’s silliest scandal yet–she was caught on camera expressing her displeasure for hydrangeas…..she loathes them even and some folks are not happy. Add insult to injury she whispered her opinion in that English-y accent she slips into sometimes. As for an apology don’t expect one anytime soon. According to a rep:

“She’s entitled to like any flower she wants and she didn’t want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world … No disrespect to the hydrangeas lovers of the world but she prefers different types of flowers.”

P.S. On a more important note, word is she has some new music coming this  early next year.

Esquire names Rihanna the “Sexiest Woman of 2011″….though we must say on an ironic note, they managed to promote that fact with  a video that achieves the almost impossible–making Rihanna seem decidedly not sexy!

Another cover for Lady Gaga, wearing minimal makeup (all MAC cosmetics)  and a Hussein Chalayan dress in a shoot styled by Nicola Formichetti for Bazaar magazine’s October issue. Gaga is in an interesting spot it seems these days. The fashion world has grown bored with her (albeit temporarily entertained by her feud with Cathy Horyn) and all but her most dedicated Monsters seem less than impressed with her latest musical offerings. GQ magazine hosted its annual Man of the Year award ceremony in London, last night, with the dashing Bradley Cooper (above) bestowed the top prize. Charlize Theron, wearing a stylish Roland Mouret jumpsuit, presented him with the award.

Uniqlo is about to launch a New York City-themed ad campaign that will feature a bunch of famous New Yorkers, including the ageless Susan Sarandon. (We saw her not too long ago at an event she hosted and yes, even in the flesh sans good lighting and makeup, the woman is positively luminescent.) The ad spots will also include Laura Linney, John Leguizamo, Glee’s Darren Criss, jazz musician Esperanza Spalding and Tumblr founder David Karp among others.

In a WWD article Sarandon says nice things about Uniqlo, natch, but goes on to express more opinion-based things on her feelings on the fashion industry, in particular how the industry relates to her oft-celebrated rack:

“I like to have fun dressing up. I hold onto things. All my Azzedine Alaïa from years ago I still have. Donna Karan and Diane von Furstenberg are old, old friends. Dolce & Gabbana have always been very generous and they have those great Fifties silhouettes that are great if you have breasts. Donna always designs for women with curves in mind. Sometimes designers don’t take breasts into account and there’s no room for them.”

On a side note, this David Karp Tumblr founder…did you know who he is or what he looks like? I didn’t. So I grabbed an image from Google and put it on the next page in case you’re curious, too. He looks like he’s maybe 17 though apparently he’s 26. And he has a Tumblr page, which is kinda good. Imagine that! And oh look, he even has a teaser from Uniqlo’s (I presume) holiday ad campaign.
