Okay folks, up until now my Magic/Project posts have been somewhat hampered by the fact that I left my laptop in Brooklyn (it’s always something–one time I forgot bras and only had the bikini top I was wearing!) so get ready for a barrage of posts, which will mostly be shoe themed. This post features “Plastic Dreams” shoe brand, Melissa, famous for its creative collabos. On this page the collaboree is Jason Wu and there is more of him, plus Gareth Pugh on the next page. Images from these collabos showed up a month or so ago online, but I think we have some new colors plus one of the Pugh shoes was only shown in the form of a sketch, though do not quote me on that.

We totally had a Bill Cunningham moment  while being part of the Blogger Project, at the Project Tradeshow earlier this week in Las Vegas, as women all over decided to rock a fishtail hem.  Not that the hem, is a novelty in itself but, the concentration  was noticeable and really fun to observe.Lois and I lost count, keeping in mind that we missed many photo opportunities running after possible photo subjects, and that my memory card seems to be overworked ,  we were able to snag shots of the very cool and slightly dramatic skirt silhouette. Grace Jones’  first album in 22 years, titled “Hurricane”  (first released in 2008) will be re -released in a dub version remixed by Ivor Guest, available  in early September. We had to share the stunning cover  styled by the legendary Jean Paul Goude. The album is available for pre-order here.

We passed by the Junk Food Clothing  booth at Project  and fell in love with this Debbie Harry  T-shirt. As one of the biggest providers of vintage  inspired tees, the mega label has taken great strides to enhance their offering by adding artist collaborations  and a  custom humanitarian tee (more on that later). Inspired by his grandmother’s designs, Raif Adelberg’s handspun cashmere sweaters have been the object of lust of many at the amazing Nick Wooster installation at Project. It’s the sweater we cannot stop touching , we want to sleep in, wear all day and pretty much hold on to foreva. Needless to say the Snobettes are smitten.For more info go here.

We featured Bijules jewellery collection yesterday but the designer herself, Jules Kim, is always amazing to look at, too–the braid! On the next page check out her shoe collaboration with Vans, first shown on the runway for her Nycked swimwear label in Miami.
