Pointer whose slick footwear we cannot praise enough has opened its first ever retail store in Berlin’s hip Mitte district earlier this month.The shop houses their signature footwear, accessories and even apparel. On the next page you’ll get a closer look at how Pointer interpreted its aesthetic into a retail space. The Beastie Boys with some help from Santigold win a bit of a come back with a hot song, “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win,” and a clever video, directed by Spike Jonze, featuring an action story line played out by G.I. Joe dolls. It’s the Beastie Boys so natch it’s a bit on the campy side with the hands manipulating the dolls sometimes showing up in the frame and the special effects intentionally low budget. Keep an eye for added characters including zombie dolls, the abominable snowman and a killer shark. Basically a revisit to juvenile days gone by, a place where the group is always at its best.

The buckled boots above  in our minds stand out as the star. A combination of rugged, sexy glamorous–kind of like the scruffy 5 o’clock shadow  dude with a sharp suit. Luv! London’s WAH Nails is catching a huge amount of much-deserved buzz these days and we’d like to throw a little shine on the person responsible for it all and that would be the woman shown above, aka Sharmadean Reid. She’s shown here from the Vans x WAH Nails “Style Night Out” event, which we posted up images from earlier today, and as you can see, she’s just about as bad as she wants to be. Playboy recently made all of its archives available electronically and in celebration it invited a bunch of folks to a party at Partners & Spades, a studio in lower Manhattan. The walls were covered with framed posters of centerfolds from days gone by and there were also cases filled with vintage memorabilia, like bunny tails and playing cards. The ladies back then were of course gorgeous and their racks amazing, but clearly beauty standards have evolved, from the bushy, heavily airbrushed (though not photoshopped), and softer looks of yore to current Playmates, who tend to be more toned and waxed (though I do believe we’re post-peak on that trend) and whose breasts are generally bubblier and seem to perch a lot higher on their frames.  Alas, from then ’til now, Playboy shows very little love for ladies of color….though of course there is good and bad to that equation.
