Another August cover, this time it’s Lara Stone for Paris Vogue. I guess we are officially over mourning the end of Carine Roitfeld’s reign at the mag, and no longer scrutinizing every move of the new head honcho, Emmanuelle Alt, as most of the comments out there in fashion world seem to be quite upbeat on this shot. Me on the other hand, no. It’s still hard for me to believe that someone of Carine Roitfeld’s talent level could end up tossed. Then again that’s corporate life for you. It’s often inexplicable.

Highsnobette-fave Cassie is featured on the cover of Blank magazine, as photographed by Gomillion and Leupold. Cassie can’t take a bad picture but the summer fashion and accessories featured in the shot suit the sexy sensuality that is her calling card perfectly. (Would love to provide a link and credit  the stylist as s/he did a very nice job but can’t find the url! And those are some Melody Ehsani earrings she’s sporting, throughout the shoot, no?) Carrie Bradshaw is on the cover of August Vogue. Can’t help but wonder how things are going with Big! (And do we like the belt with the matchy-matchy watch and epaulets or no? Or is it more like, who damn cares, I’m focused on my next cocktail, it’s the August issue for god’s sake!)

Carole Lim& Umberto Leon- Kenzo Spring 2011

Via Wwd , we get the exciting news that Carole Lim and Umberto Leon have been tapped by the illustrious LVMH as creative directors for Kenzo, which was previously designed by Antonio Marras. Genius move to seduce the  generation already familiar with Kenzo, with the potential of adding a new crop who might not even know what  Kenzo even is… Kudos to the OC team!

The choice of cotton is giving us more reasons to wear this one piece with shorts or a skirt on one of those balmy days. The red thread gives a a fun vintage feel that we find very appropriate. Available at Net -a-porter.

Depending on how you rock it this lovely tunic it can almost be a dress. The bold pattern takes  it to another level of style, plus it can make a good ‘après plage’ piece.  Available at Prettypennies.

While the stills of the look book featured last week were cool, we enjoy even more the backstage footage of Married To The Mob’s Summer  2011 look book with cutie Jasmine Solano.  The footage conveys that fierce and fun New York female spirit that is palpable and effortless. Enjoy!
