Beyonce has released a video teaser of her upcoming single, “Run The World.” In this clip alone, we spot five costume changes so however good or bad the music is, it looks like it will be fun to watch.

Newly launched, Hoper accessories is a capsule collection of handcrafted accessories designed by Laurent Gibiot. The debut collection titled “Love Remains” is  inspired by Origami  and features leather and metal bracelets and a charm that yours truly is deeply smitten with. Ear cuffs,  if my memory is correct, can be considered a  throwback from the late eighties and early nineties circa the glory days of Debbie Gibson and New Kids on the Block. Somehow while jelly bracelets had their moment  as well as friendship bracelets( WWD reports them as a popular item at the Accessories Show this year), ear cuffs  managed to not fully disappear but remain well under the radar of the must-have of the moment. Regardless of  their “it” item status, Anni Jürgenson feather ear cuffs are the fierceness, and the bright blue ones  have become a personal obsession. Available here and here. Jefffrey Campbell is showing a sneak preview of one of the illustrations by Philip Mimms, who has worked with the brand quite a bit and this time will be the creative force behind JC’s next lookbook, called “Outer Limits.” Look for it to go live sometime next week.

Shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood could be more consistent overall, but still, these shoes are so perfect for Summer 2011 (the mini tassel combined with the tribal cutout and the white heel contrasted against textured leather) that all is forgiven and the honeymoon is back on again. Beverage company Schweppes called on fashion photographer Dave LaChapelle to photograph Uma Thurman for a series of print ads. Lachapelle’s color-rich signature style matches up well with the campagin, which features fruit-flavored drinks. More LaChapelle stills on the next page, plus a video ad of a vampy Thurman being interviewed by a young reporter. Cute idea, but it falls quite flat. Via Viewonfashion.

Samia and I last week were honored to represent Timberland as preliminary judges for the 5th Annual Independent Handbag Design Awards, sponsored by InStyle magazine. It’s a meaningful event to us because extending a hand to the up and comers is one of our favorite parts of editing Highsnobette.

The sentiment is the same for one-woman-handbag dynamo and the event host, Emily Blumenthal (who could have a side career as a stand-up comic–she is truly that funny), who launched the event in 2006 to help advance the careers of independent handbag designers. At the preliminary event, we viewed slides of over 1,000 bags submitted in eight different award categories from designers worldwide.

Above is an example of one eye-catching entry, a Chuck Taylor handbag by Darren Wallace, who entered it in the “Best Green Handbag” category. You can view many more of the entries here. Winners will be chosen on June 15th held in New York City.

We already covered the red carpet for the Alexander McQueen “Savage Beauty” gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but here’s an additional shot of Rihanna and Kanye sitting at their table during the event. Vogue has a gallery of more off-red-carpet shots, which, if you get off on people watching like myself, are always so much more compelling than the entry images.

Chanel showed its Resort 2011/2012 collection yesterday and the attendees of course included plenty of beauties, highlighted by Chanel handbag rep, Blake Lively. Karl Lagerfeld has received a lot of criticism for choosing the young actress to front Chanel, but the truth is, since the signing she is looking a lot slicker and has clearly benefited from Lagerfeld’s magic touch (though it looks like her red hair dye job was temporary ’cause it’s fading fast!). Still, if she doesn’t bring anything of substance to the plate beyond “Gossip Girl,” her days are going to be numbered as a starlette.
