Cassie was one of the guests in attendance at the McQueen “Savage Beauty” opening, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, last week. We thought you might enjoy these images of her being readied for the red carpet in a crew assembled by Rag & Bone designers, David Neville and Marcus Wainright, whose dress she wore and with whom she attended the event. Here’s what they had to say about her dress:

“Cassie donned a custom rag & bone dress made of cobalt blue washed calf skin, stingray and quilted waxed leather. The hard, angular silhouette and high back neckline was inspired by some of the Elizabethan themes so often referenced by McQueen.”

To celebrate the 41st anniversary of Earth Day (a little late), Rogan Gregory and Scott Mackinlay Hahn’s Loomstate once again partnered with Hisham Akira Baroocha on a group  musical performance. While last year’s 40 Drum Circle had us hooked, this year’s focus was on strings. The musical emsemble called 41 Strings included  guests Nick Zinner and Brian Chase of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Ben Vida of Soft Circle. Lady Gaga has released the art for her next single, titled “Hair.” It will be available on itunes on May 16th. The album, Born This Way, hits on May 23rd.

While the weather in New York lately seems to be on constant rain replay, the fringed shorts by Charley 5.o caught our eye. Too playful to ignore, reminding us of that Nair “Short Shorts” commercial. On the next page a closer look at the shorts, available here.

The Fendi colored-lens sunglasses that everyone was oohing and ahhing over from the Spring 2011 runway are starting to hit retail. According to a commentor on Fendi’s Facebook page these are limited to the extreme and only available at Fendi stores in North America. Even it the commentor is correct, one has to assume that eventually they’ll show up at all Fendi stores.
