Made at the recently launched Levi’s Workshop and taking place in Los Angeles is the collaboration between artist Swoon and Cat Solen. The montage illustrates the intricate art piece made for the occasion. Enjoy!
Inspired by moden architecture, Montreal based Marie Saint- Pierre’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection contrasts textutes and colors with tailoring and layers. The extensive use of black with pops of orange and gold, is a winner in our book. Cowrie shells in jewellery is usually viewed as a symbol of womanhood, birth and wealth .Often set alonside colorful beading and other natural earthy stones, Erickson Beamond’s use of shiny gold in these earrings is of couse like their name a decaration of love and style perfection available at net-a-porter.

To the soothing sound of a Brazilian ballad, enjoy a look at Maria Bonita’s sleek and fluid collection of women’s apparel.Leaving behind the nervous almost robotic stomping we’ve seen on a lot of stateside runways, Maria Bonita’s slower runway pace is somewhat refreshing.
We’ve been observing fur as an important Autumn trend not just as an outerwear material, but also used on shoes, bags and in the cases of Alexander Wang, on sunglasses! The shoes featured here, Rodarte on the left and Altuzarra on the right, occupy very different worlds but yet the theme of fur connects them.
We mentioned that Karl Lagerfeld showed the Magnum Ice Cream commercial he dircted at the Tribeca Film festival and here it is in full. It features Rachel Bilson and Baptiste Giabiconi and like most of Lagerfeld’s film-related efforts comes across as a fashion parody a la Zoolander. Which is really quite amazing given his talent as it applies to so many other platforms. Really, it’s akin to Madonna, who as much as she accomplished as a singer and dancer, fell completely flat every time she stepped before the camera and attempted to act. The truth is though, not every creative outlet is for everyone.
Cassie recently photographed during a photoshoot in SoHo. I dare some editor to put her on a cover. It doesn’t have to be a mainstream national, but come on, for books built on edginess she’s got the right look so what’s the hold up?
On the next page, a shot of her posing with an admiring fan.
There have been a number of Tribeca Film Festival events this past week in New York, and quite a few celebrities have been in attendance, ranging from fashion heavy hitters like Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld (who showed a Magnum Ice Cream commerical he directed, featuring Rachel Bilson) to professional party attenders and names from days gone by like Susanna Hoffs and Debbi Peterson of the Bangles. We culled through the images and picked our faves–some we know well and others we are clueless on, but whatever, their fashion choices caught our eye and a lot of the time that is all that matters. That’s Ashley and MK above of course–a little prezzy for SGP, who is an admirer of their styles choices, and as it happens in this instance we were in agreement.
More on the next page, including Leigh Lezark, Lauren Hutten, Zoe Karvitz, Susanna Hoffs & Debbi Peterson, Crystal Renn, Christy Turlington, Rachel Bilson, Christy Turlington, Karolina Kurkova, Jay Choi, Sky Ferreira and a few more.
Geometric, colorful and definitely statement making.Heavy Machine founded in 2009 prides itself on creative shoes with style and comfort:
Their distinctive looks for the modern woman allow her to make a statement with each step that she takes. Inspired by industrial machine structures and heavy, strong lines, the shoes are designed to give each woman that pleasure of being standout beautiful, yet uniquely feminine. Though high heels have traditionally driven women to sacrifice comfort for looks, these are definitely “shoes comfortable enough to run away in.”
