Lady Gaga On Cover Of Bazaar

LadyGagaBazaarCover 540x392 Lady Gaga On Cover Of Bazaar

Lady Gaga is photographed by Terry Richardson on the cover Bazaar magazine’s May issue, which includes a editorial feature as well. In this particular interview Gaga goes more out there then she normally does, claiming her facial horns are real and that Alexander McQueen began working through her after his suicide.  And then, too, as of late she seems to be irritated by other pop stars, slagging off those who use don’t sing live in a recent interview, and in her Bazaar interview, she dismisses pop singers who her opinion promote insecurities by having plastic surgery (which she claims to have never had). Here is the paragraph on McQueen:

“I think [McQueen] planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote ‘Born This Way.’ I think he’s up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing.” Supporting Gaga’s claim was the decision by the label–not Gaga herself–to move up the release date for “Born This Way,” ultimately to the exact day of the one-year anniversary of McQueen’s death. “When I heard that, I knew he planned the whole damn thing. I didn’t even write the fucking song. He did!”

amare roy03 Amare Stoudmemire x Rachel Roy Womens Line

Wwd reports on the collaboration women’s apparel line between dreamy basketball  player  Amar’e Stoudemire and  designer Rachel Roy:

Sports will play a major role in his collaboration with Roy for fall. Don’t expect the pieces to home in on active garb, though. “I am channeling a girl that goes to sporting events,” said Roy,

The line will launch in September at select Macy’s stores, macys.com and NBA.com, with retail prices from $45 to about $250.

Not that it’s any of our business since the topic is fashion but these too sure make a cute couple, just like the above logo. Check out more images on  the next page.

BApe Pumps

Spotted on Twitter, A Bathing Ape’s new patent leather pumps are very nice! It’s always interesting to see how these mega streetwear brands attempt to win over  the women’s market, which in the glory days they kind of ignored. Is the timing on point or are they too late?

Alexander Wang’s TriBeCa (a Downtown Manhattan neighborhood) loft is revealed in W magazine’s May issue. In a cute twist, the writer, Holly Brubach, who sold Wang the apartment is the one who authors the story, and indeed, the story opens with a line taken from Wang’s email to  Brubach, confirming their appointment:  “I guess you have the address.” More images at Knightcat.

In a separate story, Wang gives a tour of his new Manhattan boutique in a video on the next page.

35965 Harrods Shoe Salon By Shed

It’s always interesting at least for us to see the format in which brands and retailers choose to present themselves in their retail space. Luxury retailer Harrods tapped the Shed design firm ( also did Prada) to create an art deco inspired space entirely devoted to shoes, launched earlier this year:

We explored what quality of service meant back in the Art Deco period,’ says Matt Smith, Shed’s director. ‘Rather than copying elements from the era, we wanted to break the style down, understand it, and then reinterpret it.’

 Highsnobette-Puma AMQ Bound Mid Fur

Totally fell in love with these “Bound Mid Fur” sneakers by Puma and its collaboration with Alexander McQueen. The  fur ankle detail, which we are smitten with,  is removable. While  Autumn 2011 was the last Puma collaborations McQueen had personally been involved with, the team at Puma has kept  a partnership with the fashion house to continue creating collections. Take a look at the  black version on the next page.
