Kerin Rose 19-Kaoma

The internet was on fire last week with the buzz of Kerin Rose’s  A-Morir custom Supreme hoodie worn by Lady Gaga. This week Kerin Rose gives a look at her latest assortment of delightful  couture eye wear. Entirely adorned by hand this season, A-Morir  styles include  the “Kaoma” (the band responsible for that addictive “Lambada” song) made of 24K gold crystals, the “Lizzy” with real skull bones and feathers, the “Supreme” with real mink and many more. There is nothing subtle about this eye wear. We highly advocate for wearing them at any time of day or night in all their irreverent, glamorous fabulousness. All available at A-Morir.

Galliano Let Go By Dior!

01 March 2011, 15.58 | Posted in Business, Couture | 1 comment »

According to WWD:

In the wake of mounting allegations that John Galliano made anti-Semitic and racial slurs on multiple occasions, Christian Dior has fired its star couturier with immediate effect. In a brief statement, Dior said because of the “odious behavior” of Galliano portrayed in a video circulated Monday, Dior has sidelined him and initiated proceedings to fire him. Sidney Toledano, Dior’s president and chief executive officer, said, “I condemn most firmly the statements made by John Galliano which are total contradiction with the essential values that have always been defended by the House of Christian Dior.”

According to the article, Christian Dior plans to go ahead with the runway show scheduled for this Friday. Galliano had been with the label since 1996.

NataliePortmanMissDior Natalie Portman Issues Statement On John Galliano

Not the easiest story to be following, but since we’ve started down that path….Natalie Portman, who is the face of Christian Dior’s “Miss Dior Cherie” fragrance (print ad above), has issued a statement in response to the video of John Galliano, making anti-Semetic statements:

“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”

As it turns out, the video was made in December, and was separate from the incident for which Galliano was arrested last week. Via Telegraph.

David Yurman Wide Black Diamond Curb Chain Bracelet

david yurman black diamond 2

Cannot really explain it,  but when it comes to jewellery in our book bigger is always better. David Yurman as a jewellery line,  made a name for itself with a signature rope-like  helix design bracelet. However, this wide link men’s bracelet is so the cat’s meow that we had to pause and admire. Why is the girl’s stuff always so dainty? Je na sais pas. But this one is a total steal from the boys, had it been in gold, we’d be in serious lust trouble. More angles on the flip. Available here.

Milan Fashion Week: Dsquared2 Woman Autumn/Winter 2011

Putting their undeniable skill at telling a story glamorously, Dean and Dan Caten’s Fall  2011 women’s collection  for Dsquared2 had me pleased. While the collection can  be seen as a little  costumey the dramatic fashion-loving fiend that is yours truly finds herself thoroughly seduced . The leather coat at 5:1o made me pause in admiration (sadly the model tripped a little).  Had they used wild wild west on the runway, I’d be in tears (of joy of course) Enjoy !
