We covered the collaboration between Vans and Brooklyn-born singer Santigold and now Vans has more info about the launch on its site, including locations where the shoes can be purchased, plus a contest for a free autographed pair. Vans: Who is your favorite designer right now?
Santigold: I usually wear a lot of vintage because it’s such a good feeling when you find something good, that you know no one else has. But Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs and Jeremy Scott have been holding my closet down for the past five years.
Vans: Favorite musicians you grew up admiring?
Santigold: Nina Simone, Devo, The Smiths, Bad Brains.

In keeping with its reputation as the quiet luxury brand for which quality and attention to detail trumps all else, Hermes has kicked off its ”Festival Of Crafts” tour, which includes demonstrations by the craftsmen and artisans from the renowned Hermès workshops in Lyons, France. First stop Seattle, which began on Febuary 23rd and ends on the 28th. The tour then heads to Chicago (March 11-16) and Washington D.C. (March 25-30). It’s a year-long tour that will conclude in Europe. In a way it’s a very staid-sounding event, but on the other hand, it’s always interesting to see what goes into making a product with such a storied reputation. Images courtesy of Hermes.

Super sexy Megan Fox slinks around in another spot for Emporio Armani, promoting the brand’s denim and lingerie line. Don’t know what it is, but she has one of those faces that is simply a pleasure to behold. Not long ago Fox added some of her baby pics to her Facebook page and you can very much see she was a beauty in the making even then with cherry red lips and bright baby blues framed by a striking brow, all centerpieces to her look to this day. Just peeped at Claw’s site that she has a super neat “Hollywood” pillow, now retailing at Karmaloop. Natch, it’s the famous claw, featuring screens of retro-looking head shots of actors and actresses……”strike a pose there’s nothing to it!”

In this promotional spot, Lady Gaga, wearing a long blonde wig, applies nude lipstick from her collection with M.A.C. Viva Glam. No words are spoken. However, ff you watch the video at the M.A.C. site, after the spot ends, Gaga comes on and explains how all sales of Viva Glam product go to stopping the spread of HIV and assisting people live with AIDS. Hand over your email and you’ll receive a reminder of her next message video, planned for March 1st.
