While visiting Compass, we checked in with Bass, who was showing a collection co-designed with New-York-based designer Rachel Antonoff, whose use of Bass saddle shoes in a runway presentation last year led to the collaboration. The saddle shoe theme anchors the offerings, which include low and mid-heel lace ups, plus a combat boot. On the flip, see a peek of Autumn 2011, which includes a velvet saddle shoe!

With a booth at New York’s Compass shoe show, Repetto continues to makes its push into the U.S. market, showing offerings for Autumn 2011. The range included its famous ballet profile, featuring a range of materials and patterns–especially plaid, while the collection also showed the brand’s push into other profiles including pumps. For parents who appreciate this brand’s ultra-classic approach, there is also a range for the kid’s. See more images on the next page.

Having used eco -conscious materials since the beginning of his career 20 years ago, Yiorgos Eleftheriades ‘ women’s collection is filled with flowy silhouettes balanced with tailoring and a very wide variety of textures styled to prefection, and one we’re definitely smitten with. On the next page a closer look via Voguespain.

Taking a decidedly more body conscious approach, the Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair women’s collection illustrates the brand consistent intent on developing an aesthetic that transcends time or trend into something modern, edgy and classically cool, enjoy a peek at  through the lens  of the very talented Sonny Vandevelde.  Via AP PARIS – Paco Rabanne, the label that rocketed into fashion history in the 1960s with its metal mosaic dresses, is trying to return to the fashion present.

The label, which hasn’t fielded a runway collection since 2006, has named madcap (?)Indian designer Manish Arora as its new artistic director.

Arora has garnered considerable critical renown for his inventive, over-the-top signature line in eye-popping colours.

The house said Friday that Arora will present his first collection for Rabanne during spring-summer 2012 displays in October.

Don’t agree with the term “madcap” though, seriously AP?

We visited Compass’s New York shoe show on Tuesday and our first stop was with Danish-designer Camilla Scovgaard. Shown here and on the next page are items from her Spring/Summer 2011 and pre-Autumn collections. The clean and elegant design theme that defines Camilla Scovgaard certainly speaks to her Scandanavian roots, but there’s a fly-girl influence that reflects a designer who has her two feet firmly planted on the street.

Totally channelling our inner Ertha Kitt we had to give praise to the Wolford Artiste tights available now at la petite coquette. Grrr…Full view on on the flip.
