There is a very detailed (and fascinating if you follow retail) story in today’s WWD on Urban Outfitters’ bridal format, Bhldn, which launches on Valentine’s Day with an etail site. Bhldn wedding gowns are priced from $1,000 to $4,000 and event dresses, $200 to $600, and yes, much like Anthropologie, the format it was spawned form, everything has a vintage, alternative feel to it. According to the article:
The Web site will launch with apparel, accessories, lingerie, jewelry and shoes. Tabletop, cake pedestals, place cards and everything for decorating a venue will bow on the site in May. Invitations, using letter press or engraving techniques, will be introduced next year with artists creating limited time collections.
Part of the article focus includes the Urban campus and building No. 15, an impeccably-styled incubator space, in which the BHLDN brand is located. Have a look see on the next page and you’ll quickly understand why, according to the article, the company’s “digs have contributed to employees’ creativity and the company’s ability to recruit talent.”
Longtime fave Henrik Vibskov presented his collection during the recent Copenhagen fashion week. The collectio , a unified mix of men’s and women’s looks blends colors and volume for a look that never looks contrived or studied. The turbans and goggle-like eye wear only reinforce the idea of individualism, multiculturalism and out the box aesthetic that Vibskov is know for. On the next page enjoy all the women’s looks, courtesy of Copenhagen fashion week.

As part of our ongoing love affair with all things plushie (even if the trend is post-peak), we were delighted to come across these recycled teddy bear rugs, created by artist Agustina Woodgate, who says about her work:
I aim to create art that fosters exchanges between people rather than encounters between a viewer and object. Through these exchanges, meaning is elaborated collectively, rather than in the space of individual consumption.
Woodgate is an artist so purchasing these rugs might not be so easy. View more rugs on the next page. Via UO.
French car maker Renault has made available a video ad clip, promoting its Clio model, in a campaign called “Va Va Voom.” The ad features some ultra-iconic moments from pop culture, including clips from Breakfast At Tiffany’s with Audrey Hepburn, Marlon Brandon’s famous “I could have been a contender” line from On the Waterfront, David Bowie’s “Ground Control,” and to keep things modern, Dita Von Teese stripping and even a snippet of Rihanna performing her controversial new single, “S&M.” It sounds like a very random collection, but somehow it works and is very much a visual treat.
