Lady Gaga ‘Born This Way’ Single Art

LadyGagaBornThisWaySingleArt1 Lady Gaga Born This Way Single Art

Lady Gaga has Tweeted the single art for her much anticipated single, “Born This Way.” It has a sort of hybrid drag queen/Avatar look to it…..note the implants photoshopped onto her forehead and cheeks. She also Tweeted the lyrics and production credits, which you can see on the next page. As you might guess based on the title, it’s very much a pop anthem about accepting your sexuality, color, etc.

Ken Doll X Magnolia Bakery Valentine’s Day Cupcake

KenMagnoliaCupcakeforBarbie Ken Doll X Magnolia Bakery Valentines Day Cupcake

Apparently we are incredibly out of the loop because we had no idea that Barbie is currently not on speaking terms with Ken–since 2004 no less! No idea what the fight is about, but Ken was recently spotted at Magnolia Bakery and it turns out he had a Valentine’s Day cupcake customized for “Barb” in an effort to win her back! You’ll be able to purchase it between now and Valentine’s Day at the New York and Los Angeles locations. Nice idea, but not sure Barbie will appreciate his image choice, which features her from one of her “don’t” moments: sporting red eyebrows that color coordinate with her earrings!  See Ken’s paparazzi shots on the next page.

black 2 Vogue Italia Black Allure February 2011(Complete Look)

Vogue in other countries seems to always get it right. Not to diss American fashion or creativity but there seems to be a deliberate lack of awareness in some of the editorial choices made by many publications that honestly leave us baffled. This is not even about the inclusion of more black models but about the  adequate representation of a country known for its diversity.  We understand the aesthetic choices of a Vanessa Beecroft art piece for example, but is fashion not for all? Fortunately the Snobette universe reads  more like a multi cultural  United Colors Benetton ad from the 80s, and we would not have it any other way. Enjoy Vogue Italia’s  “Black Allure,” styled by Edward Enninful, photographed by Emma Summerton in what  looks like New York City’s Hiro Ballroom.

Ralph Lauren Launches Luxury Denim

ralph lauren denim11 Ralph Lauren Launches Luxury Denim

If anyone has the credibility to launch a lux denim line, it’s certainly Ralph Lauren. Set to hit retail in July and priced from $300 to $2,000, according to WWD:

Ralph Lauren Collection Denim features a soup-to-nuts offering, from jeans to chic clothes that happen to be in denim. They include superskinny jeans, jodhpur jeggings, a denim tuxedo and a tailored trenchcoat — in dark black, indigo and distressed denim rinses and treatments like hand-coating to give some pieces a leather feel.

Still, denim is a super tricky category and this collection targets a more sophisticated customer, who isn’t exactly known for setting denim trends. Is this a pricier version of Not Your Daughter’s Jeans or something that has the potential to impact the denim market in a wider way a year or so from now? See more of the collection on the next page.
