3-D Custom Fit ‘Melonia’ Shoe

It took me watching the video above a couple of times to get this concept, but here’s how it works: first, you get your foot scanned by this 3-D magical scanning device, and then your foot dimensions are put into an even more magical 3-D printing machine, which builds your “Melonia” shoe layer by layer. At the end of the video, you can see the finished product on a runway as worn by a bunch of different models. And on top of all that, the shoes are disposable! Designed by Naim Josefi and Souzan Youssouf, the duo worked with a company called Materialise, who provided the technology behind these fascinating shoes. Via Moco.
