Designer and model Erin Wasson has landed the cover of Elle Spain’s January issue as photographed by Esteben Santiago. Wasson sports a top hat and the magazine declares that 2011 will be the year of the hat. For selfish reasons, I hope not…..that’s one trend that never worked for me! For editorial images visit FGR.

Nowness tracked down three of France’s most influential style setters, Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld, actress Laetitia Crahay and head of accessories for Chanel and artistic director for Maison Michel Josephine de la Baume and asked what their wardrobe plans are for New Year’s. Replied Roitfeld (image above), “New Year’s Eve is not my favorite day, so I have no plans. I guess I’ll be wearing a nightgown.” Crahay plans on a “men’s Lederhosen” outfit and de la Baume will go with “a long Missoni poncho,” and of course….”plenty of Chanel and Maison Michel accessories.”

“The Aleph” is an artsy fashion film featuring Belgian model Hanne Gaby, wearing the designs of Esteben Cortazar for Exito. This is the second of three capsule collections planned between the Columbian-born Cortazar and the Latin American retailer.  Film direction was a collaboration between art director Jaime Rubiano and filmmaker Jason Last. There is a kitschy side to using public signs  for anything else but their purpose that takes me back to the late 80’s for example ,  when  there was sense of rebellion in pop culture. ‘No Entry’ signs were made for the  always angry teen’s rooms( mine was by Garfield puchased at a Hallmark) ,  Fresh Prince sang ‘Paren’t just don’t  understand’  and the funny thing is that nowadays parents seem to understand   so well or teens are  so over them , that youth rebellion has almost vanished from pop culture.  I do not know how the cool Tim Delger pieces made me attempt a discourse on  youth culture? The furniture just speaks to me I guess. More on the next page.

Rihanna, who would no doubt top HS’s “Best Dressed List” should one ever exist, visits the beach while visiting her homebase, Barbados, for the holidays. At first glance I guess her one-piece was from either We Are Handsome or Black Milk, but a quick search doesn’t come up with a black cat graphic from either company. Anyone out there know what label her swimsuit is? [UPDATE: Actually it is We Are Handsome and she's wearing a suit we featured!]
