manish-arora x Barbarella

Vogue Italia  reports rumors of  the actual appropriate match of Highsnobette-fave Manish Arora as the possible design talent tapped for Paco Rabanne pret-a-porter: “After an accessories collection presented last October, the re-launch of Paco Rabanne now continues with pret-à -porter. The brand has decided to head strongly into the future, after its company problems in 2006. And Manish Arora could be a part of that ongoing process: rumors suggest he will be the new pret-à-porter designer for Paco Rabanne.”  If  Paco Rabanne does not ring a bell to some of you we suggest a look at Barbarella (above  right) where Mr. Rabanne was the costume designer.

FurWillow&ChainEarrings

Accessory designer Sara, who sells her designs on Etsy, often uses recycled materials in her designs and enjoys mixing materials.  Lots of her fall designs this year include recycled mink, which is featured here in this sassy “Willow & Chain” fur drop earrings. Etsy can be an intimidating place to shop (though for starters it would help a LOT if it would improve its search functions!) but there’s ton of buried treasures there for anyone who spends the time. Via Sliceofstyle. One more fur earring–this one in green–on the next page.

Taken from her Transformations collection, inpired by the transformations of animals in nature, Camille Cortet creates ‘The Snake Molting Legging”:

Our skin ages through cycles of molt that we can’t notice whereas snakes have to go through exhausting stages in order to escape from their skin that becomes too old and too tight. This behavior and experience are translated in a body ornament. The tights are becoming a second skin. Made out of a laser cut textile, they become textured with the shape of the body. The ornament evolves with our movements. It ages and breaks as a skin after several uses.”
