We featured a the newly launched scarf collection by Berlin’s Aschön last year. Now in their second year, enjoy a preview of our favorites from Mila Micic and Claus Arnold’s Spring 2011 assortment titled “Kelp Garden,” featuring their unique prints as well as a collaboration of portraits with artist Pabo on the next page.
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards took place last night with menswear designer Billy Reid the winner. The red carpet was the most interesting part and as always we’ve highlighted our faves. On this page we have a ying and yang situation with the Olsen twins on one side, decked as they often are as of late in lots of fur and Chanel Iman on the other side, looking summery and still working her super tight, post Victoria’s Secret runway bod. On the next page Kim Kardashian, Keri Hilson, Christina Ricci, Blake Lively, Carey Mulligan, Diane Von Furstenberg and Tory Burch who came with her sweetie, Lyor Cohen (which I have a hard time wrapping my head around but okay).
While walking into an Urban Outfitters store somehow gives me a headache, its parent company Free People has managed to make their stores almost enchanting. Handmade looking displays, layered styling, boutique merchandising (no big piles of anything) and a definite global traveler bohemian feel. If you’re not a jaded retail geek like yours truly, you might event forget that you’re in a chain store. Luckily all that whimsicalness is not lost on the Free People website, which has a Vintage Loves section that is so well photographed and styled I had to share. Belts, jewellery and apparel that make you feel like you’re actually at a cozy flea market. Check out more on the flip. Most pieces available here.
Creative Recreation for women used to be a sneaker line, but when ladies took a step back from the kicks trend, the brand went back to the drawing board and decided to relaunch it as Creative Recreation Select for a more grown customer. We’ve been seeing it at our various visits to the independent trade shows and liked a lot of what we saw so it’s nice to see it finally make it to retail. The above 3-in-1 boot is called the “Morentina Hi” and you can find it at Endless. Othere styles are being sold at 80spurple and Shopnastygal.
Collabos have become commonplace to the extreme, but once in a while one comes along that still is capable of causing a gasp. Case in point this joint effort from Mykita and Uslu, which packages a pair of aviators with color-coordinated nail polish–how fun is that! Available in lilac, neon yellow and grey, each aviator comes in a stylish suitcase with its respective matching nail polish. Available starting this week. E-mail shopberlin@mykita.com to order by mail or contact mail@mykita.com to locate selected retailers. Shot of products in gift “suitcase” after the flip.

Howard Stern conducts a fascinating, hour-long interview with Jay-Z, in which he discusses his upbringing, choosing Alicia Keyes over Mary Blige for “Empire State Of Mind,” meeting Rhianna for the first time and his views on the Kanye/Taylor Swift dust up, plus tons more, all in the name of promoting his book, “Decoded” (cover image above), which went on sale today. –Youraudiofix

WAH nails and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix are a bit of an odd combo, but the resulting Formula 1 nail art designs are totally fly.–WAHnails
Kate Spade is one of those labels that is rarely on this Snob’s radar. Well edited with a certain look I’ve been comfortable observing from a far. However, these sandals just made me look a little closer, as they are pretty much a party for your feet. Irresistible. The “Charm Glitter” sandals available here.
Even the cutest among us have an evil side and in tribute to the anger, Kidrobot, Hello Kitty and San Francisco artist Frank Kozik all collaborated on an “Empress Of The Underworld” Hello Kitty, who features horns, fangs, and yes–check it out–cloven feet. For added evilness, she also comes with a pitchfork and a spider. She will be available on December 2nd at Kidrobot and select retailers. Via Todokawaii.
Enjoy a look at London’s Shao Yen Chen Spring 2011 film, titled “Skin.” Inspired by the human body, the collection plays with concept of the body as clothes, challenging anatomy by contrasting textures and volume. Chen, a recent winner of the Fashion Weekend/Le Vif Award in Brussels, 2009, is a name to remember. View some stills of the collection on the flip.
