The collaboration between Patricia Field and the MCM label  is now available at Pat Field’s online store. As usual the grande dame of downtown style adds some well needed street flavor to the classic MCM silhouettes. The results we dare say are pretty lust worthy. A closer look at all the reversible bags on the next page, which can be purchased here.

T By Alexander Wang Spring 2011 Lookbook

AWTSpring5 368x540 T By Alexander Wang Spring 2011 Lookbook

Through his lower-priced T line, Alex Wang hooks up his girls with the looks that made him famous. All the basics are here with some slight variations on the themes. However, given how many brands have followed him down this path, it could have benefited Wang to be a little less safe, or rather create a few items that clearly can be identified as being his and his alone. This is why in part women are choosing shoes and bags as their signature pieces. Short of a logo, lots of brands’ apparel offerings can barely be distinguished from the lower-priced wannabees. Madewell Spring/Summer 2011

 Madewell Spring/Summer 2011

Madewell is a line that looks obvious but isn’t as available at retail as much as one might guess given how creative-types, especially fashion editors, tend to like this look: on-trend silhouettes (in this case trousers and woven tops), slim-fitting but not tight and a little earthy. Basically it’s the look pushed by Lucky magazine (at least prior to the firing of Kim France), which is good because there is need for it in the marketplace. Still, one can’t help but dream it could be just a touch edgier. More images on the next page. Via WWD.

A blonde Kim Kardashian is featured in an ad for Kardashian’s “Beach Bunny” swimwear line. As much as I watch this family’s shows, it’s apparently not enough because I hadn’t heard a thing about them launching a bikini line! Via Styleist.

AngelinaJolieVogueFC Angelina Jolie On Cover Of December U.S. Vogue

Not sure what the aim was for this cover (with Anna Wintour nothing is an accident), but it seems to have more of a bright and energetic Glamour feel than Vogue. Via Fashioncopious where you can also get a look-see of the other 11 covers from 2010. My fave? Marion Cotillard who sizzled for the July issue, with Halle Berry for the September issue a close second.

highsnobette wgsn fashion 540x452 WGSNs First Global Fashion Awards Ceremony

WGSN hosted the first annual global fashion awards last night at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Thanks to our fashion fairies, we had the opportunity to attend the lavish fashion event.  The  big media buzz was of course  Alber Elbaz winning the ”Most Influential Womenswear Designer” award (Can’t believe Alex Wang did not?). While the highlight of the night for us  had to be  seeing Iris Apfel receiving the “Global Fashion Icon” award sporting a huge peacock pin,  feathers and lots of bangles.  Another wow moment was meeting Nicholas Kirkwood who won “Most Influential Footwear Designer.” We tweeted some  the winners live, but  on the next page you’ll get a glance into what we saw and the complete list.
