HMLanvin H & M X Lanvin Ad

Some collabos click and others do not. This one is not a fave of mine. The ad is okay, but as a poster at Thefashionspot, where this pic is from, simply stated, “The ad is really awkward, but the clothes seem nice. Though I’m sure they’ll look like crap in person.”

Bethany Costino-fronted Best Coast releases the video for their California dreamy single, “Boyfriend.” It’s pure enjoyable sweetness, featuring the band playing at a quinceañera party (the equivalent to a sweet 16), whose guest of honor is crushing on a guest. Does the young lady get her young man? Watch and see. Via Urbanoutfitters.

MOBRBK1 Reebok X Married To The Mob Freestyle Dubble Bubble

Leah McSweeney and Married to the M.O.B. are baaaack, with another collaboration with Reebok, the first one with Colette, which famously sold out in less than 30 minutes. This one feature the all time classic Reebok Freestyle in a style called “Dubble Bubble.” The shoe has a suede upper in cobalt blue, pig suede lining, plus a rose gold Married to the M.O.B. logo pin on the outside of each shoe. Inside the tongue reads “We stay laced since 1982.” On the design, this time around McSweeney says she wanted a more grown and lux shoe, “The last Reebok I designed with Colette was a little more playful and I wanted to do something a little more grown up this time.” The shoe launches November 1st and can be picked up for 100 beans at Karmaloop and Michael K on the East Coast and Undefeated and PickYourShoes on the West Coast. I’m assuming brick and mortar shops only. A couple more shots on the next page.

FendiSunglassesTrendland Fendi Sunglasses Spring 2011

The sunglasses Fendi showed on its Spring 2011 runway got plenty of attention for their fanciness, and rightly so. They are definitely ready for their close up. To see more, Trendland takes a closer look at five additional color combos.

BijulesFingerRingAhalife1 Bijules Three Hinged Finger Ring

Never shy to poke at the edges of darkness, Bijules designer Jules Kim designed this three-hinged ring from a mold of her own finger, and admits, “I wanted it to be a little part of me and it had to be weird. There are conversations to be had about everything I wear or design.” It’s available now on Ahalife, where you can also check out a video interview with Kim on her design process. More images of the ring on the next page. On another note, Kim is accompanying her accessory line on a bit of a world tour. First stop was Paris, which we’re told went well. Through today, you can find her in Bassano, Italia.

Blake Lively Goes Head To Toe In Lanvin Spring 2011

Blake Lively Goes Head To Toe In Lanvin Spring 2011

Blake Lively dressed in Lanvin for the Spike TV Scream Awards in Los Angeles this past weekend and looked quite amazing in an outfit that was an almost exact copy (the runway featured a beige bodysuit) of a look shown on the label’s recent Spring 2011 runway show. The claim is that Lively doesn’t use a stylist, though she certainly has a level of access beyond virtually everyone on the planet. Good to see her put in to good use, though my jury is out on whether she should have altered the outfit a bit more to make it her own. Images via Justjared. A full shot of the dress after the flip.

SpikeMIAFront2 M.I.A. In Burka For Red Carpet

M.I.A. walked the red carpet in a burka at the Spike TV Scream Awards in Los Angeles last night. The look has been deemed “controversial” by the press, but in reality it’s a cool shout out to the many Islamic women around the globe for whom this garment is an everyday part of life. Would love to hear what burka wearers have to say about her choice! Interestingly, M.I.A.’s sister, Kali, has featured burkas in her  Super Fertile accessory line lookbooks. M.I.A. later performed in a bright sparkle outfit. More looks on the next page. Via Dailymail.

Kanye claim the suits won’t let him use album art (click to next page to view) of choice because it features nudity (more specifically a black man having sex with a white woman with a polka dot tail!). The execs whisper otherwise behind his back. –Latimes

M.I.A. has purchased another URL, featuring her latest video song offering. Other sites are saying it features a live performance, but all that’s there now is some dude’s face. –Bedroomtothehallway

You like  a man with tats? Head to Mobliving, where the MTTM ladies get their male buddies to strip during the photo shoot for the holiday lookbook. Much laughter, blushing and picture taking ensues. –Mobliving

In the ongoing depate over whether the Asian-influenced Louis Vuitton runway collection would actually appeal to Asians (ignoring the fact that it will probably barely hit stores), one Hong Kong socialite gives the LV runway the thumbs up, while a consultant says it was too heavy-handed. Well that solves that! –WSJ

In more debate news, among black women, “going natural” gains steam but, naturally, not without some good ole “good hair” controversy. Cocoandcreme.
