TomFordRefinery Tom Ford Black Orchid Nail Polish, Lipstick & Perfume

We wrote about Tom Ford’s upcoming nailpolish release a while back and now with the official images we see it’s being packaged as a “Black Orchid” gift set with lipstick and a solid perfume. If you know someone who’s a packaging/status fiend then you can knock her off your gift list with this item. Priced at $140, it will sell in the United States at Neiman’s and Saks. Via Refinery. On a nail polish note, while visiting Valley spa a couple weeks back for a manicure with star nail technician, Maki, she revealed that she was part of the team that handled the manicures for Tom Ford’s super-secret ruway show! In keeping with the theme of personalizing the fashion choices to reflect the person wearing the clothes, a different color polish was used with each model. Perhaps a hint that we can expect lots more in the nail polish category from Mr. Ford?

004 540x462 Introducing: Lisa Shahno Hexapelerine Shrug

Spotted on the very lovely Ma Frangine  is the clever  Hexapelerine shrug  by Lisa Shahno, “based on the hexaflexagon, discovered in 1939 by Arthur H. Stone.” Needless to say, this is a “where did you get that?” show-stopper piece . Yes I want one! More views on the flip.

Jean-Paul Gaultier Spring/Summer 2011 Runway Video

YouTube Preview Image

As much as this video omitted Beth Ditto opening the show, I loved how it allows us to see that the models really got into the mood of the Joan Jett fierceness the collection illustrates. I for one  deeply admire  Jean-Paul Gaultier, who tends to not fully reinvent himself every season, but continues to expand on his aesthetic. Gaultier has a stamp, a brandless trademark that has contributed maybe not to his commercial success, but definitely to  his longevity. Spring 2011 rocked!

Rag & Bone Duke Anorak In Camo

RAGB WO49 V11 Rag & Bone Duke Anorak In Camo

This cool Rag & Bone anorak is the kind of thing that some  magazines would readily  put in the ”don’t” category. Too baggy, does not show the silhouette, blah, blah blah. The reality though is that sometimes you just really want to go through grey cold, wet days in  something loose with just enough edge to not be boring. Plus, it’s in my favorite print: camouflage!  More view on the next page available at Forward. More details on the next page.

ArynK 014

The L.A.-based Aryn K once again puts together a solid collection, offering trends that are in step with the runway, with the big difference being prices that are lot more reality based. On this page are a pair of floral-harem pants with sequin details. On the next, a bunch of tops with the same fancy yet laid back feel. Spring offerings are out yet, but when they do hit, Piperlime will be carrying them.

YSL pumps Yves Saint Laurent Palais Mohawk Pumps

Fortune favours the bold and if you can pull these goat hair YSL shoes off, you are most fortunate indeed and pretty brave. Unsure of what YSL were thinking when they conjured up these but they seem to be a huge hit so far. Available at Net-a-Porter via  Shoesnob. AK.

MG 3626 grande Trigger Finger

Karla Fox is the jewellery designer behind this beauty, the Bullet ring! The detail that has gone into this is genius- the bullets actually rotate! I am in love with it, but at $1,950 it  is quite pricey. There is also a sterling silver version priced at $495. Visit Karla’s site to view her other collections!ZJK
