im glad im not the only one who that this was crap. is this supposed to be his “thriller” video? im underwhelmed…

  5. I personally enjoyed it. Beautiful imagery.

I noticed that the colors of Selita(the phoenix)’s feathers are the same colors of the Air Yeezys & Louis Vuitton sneakers Kanye designed. Even the birds that were served at the dining table had the same color palette.

The symbolism of the phoenix in this short film was to represent someone who is different & discriminated against because they’re not like everyone else. Selita even says in her speech at the end that what she doesn’t like about Kanye’s world is the fact that when someone is different, they try to change them. Statues were once phoenixes who were turned to stone. That’s why she went back to her home & burned because she didn’t want to be turned into stone & be like everyone else.

Kanye’s acting needs work, but I loved it nonetheless. It makes you think. It leaves it open for representation. The music was great. My favorites were ALL OF THE LIGHTS featuring Rihanna & BLAME GAME.
