Claire Naa  and Arnaud Soulignac  are the French duo behind Origami jewellery, amazing creations, inspired by Japanese origami. Having started off making origami pendants from paper and thread, their designs are now made in precious metals. My favourite has to be the Pegasus necklace (above)! Fahrd Fosté  presented his Spring 2011 collection at Participant gallery this past week. The combination of runway and presentation titled “Modern Psychosis,”  started with a film projection illustrating  the  constant noise of the city,  followed by each model being stripped of a word-covered  garment to reveal the apparel collection. As usual Fahrd  does something special by using industrial objects and incorporating them into garments. One of my faves this season. Take a closer look on the next page.

Fun collection with lots of appealing pieces, which are at their best when Gwen Stefani channels her grown and sexy ska-rock roots. Perfect for women who are over super-tight everything but still want to project that feminine-but-tough, outside-the-mainstream look. I just wished Stefani had left out the African prints, which just seemed wrong from a color and pattern perspective. Love the ocelot print bags, which Gwen highlighted in her showroom interview, making bags and shoes a continued strength for the line. Images via Style. More on the next page.

Gwen Stefani forever gracious and yet still totally bad ass is interviewed in her showroom before she showed her Spring 2011 collection last night. You get the feeling she wishes the collection had taken a slightly less bright direction when she states, “Prints are hard to pull off and do well….they’re scary, sometimes you just want to be black and be safe.” And then she highlights a grey suit and laments not having more pieces similar to it. At the end when she’s asked who’s attending and you expect to here here her rattle off some big celebrity names, you gotta love that she answers, family, No Doubt members and her friends in that order.

For its second set of Autumn deliveries, M.O.B. called on singer Shanell to rep its line. She’s one of a long line of unapologetic females who define what this label stands for. Refreshing to see after a week of watching runways featuring models, who seemed more monochromatic than ever. Standout items continue to be the cardigans, and for newness, a grey satin jumpsuit. The shoot also features accessories by another HS fave, accessory designer Tanaya Henry, whose Lace presentation we checked out last night and will be featuring shortly. Is there a more consistenly great designer? Love the suede group and the way Lauren combined dusky flannel shirts with shimmery skirts.

If there’s a person in the fashion world who doesn’t find fashion blogger Susie Bubble charming and adorable, I haven’t met her yet. Thus Ms. Bubble was an excellent choice for Urban Outfitters to collaborate with on a tee. On the UO site, there’s also an interview with Bubble, in which she chats about a bunch of stuff, including food favorites: “I crave properly fried chicken wings (Hong Kong style…) and Portuguese custard tarts quite frequently – sometimes both at the same time.” Cute!
