Miu Miu  created a small collection of printed  sachets that will go  on sale at their stores for the upcoming Fashion’s  Night Out,  not a bad idea as they are probably somewhat affordable and not mass produced. However,what would have really made us swoon would have been a partnership with one of the plethora of young designers we have in New York  to make something even more unique by being a little more inclusive of the City’s very extensive  creative community.  I’m just sayin’…

Katy Perry was spotted recently sporting a Romeing Panda three-finger “Yummy Gummy” ring. There are also regular “Yummy Gummy” rings, brooches, belts, necklaces, earrings and even men’s chains. And for all you candy lovers, no it’s not edible.  Apparently that matters deeply because if you visit the site that fact is made explicitedly clear: “ATTENTION: there is ABSOLUTELY NO REAL CANDY used in our designs, ONLY LUCITE candies. ***NOT REAL CANDY***” Via Buzzteria.

J.Crew’s artsier older sister, Madewell, now has its autumn lookbook on line. This is a brand that is clearly very comfortable with what it is and where it wants to be. Right now it’s at about 15 doors, which makes it a lot easier when it comes to editing a collection. Urban Outfitters is getting in on the nail art trend with its own version of Minx nails, with a brand called Nail Fraud. Available in four different colors,  floral, python (above right), dollar bill (above left), and peacock, each pack comes with two sets of 20 nails. They’re made of a flexible film and the only trick is fitting them to your nail and filing off the excess. Via Notcot.

Slipping on these rabbit-fur-lined, velvet (!!) Celine sandals has to feel akin to rolling around on a four-poster bed with satin sheets covered in one-hundred dollar bills…..just sick, sick, sick levels of decadence. Founding member of Sonic Youth and reluctant fashion designer, Kim Gordon, is designing a capsule collection with Sportmax, which includes a dress, a tunic and a tee (see image above, which, not for nothing, but that is a freaking terrible image of Gordon), inspired by nature and abstract water colors. The items will debut at a party at the SoHo Sportmax store on Fashion Night Out on September 10, with her main squeeze, Thurston Moore handling dj duties. According to the WSJ, Gordon will be hanging around New York to attend Fashion Week’s two hottest shows, Rodarte and Alexander Wang (how do I hate you Ms. Gordon….let me count the ways!)
