Rugby Ralph Lauren Fall 2010 Video (Filmed in BK!)

Ralph Lauren is in a very good place these days and you can feel the confidence oozing in this video ad, featuring looks from Rugby Autumn 2010.  Bonus points for filming it in Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill neighborhood, which is populated by folks who are pretty much Ralph’s exact target demographic. As a reference point, the neighborhood got famous for a minute when Heath Ledger and Michelle Willams made house there with their new baby a few years back.

Chanel Shoes & Accessories Autumn 2010

ChanelShadesSB Chanel Shoes & Accessories Autumn 2010

Stylebubble got to visit a Chanel showroom, where she got up close and personal with the Autumn 2010 collection (jealous much am I??). Yes, THAT collection, the furry, controversial one, which would have been soooo much more on point if Karl had used a better quality fur than the cheap-o Halloween custume stuff he opted for. Anyway, some of the items are great, like these shades here–note the plushier fur, while others, meh, not so much. The iced-out clutch is weird–its looks like it belongs to a person whose dog sheds a lot, but the clog boots…be still my beating heart. More images on the next page.

ColumbiaMetroTrailMidAtmos Columbia X Kinetics X Atmos Metro Trail Boots

As part of its 7th anniversary celebration, Japanese retailer Kinetics collaborated with Columbia and Atmos on these “Metro Trail” mid leather boots. Last time outdoor looks were a trend, females had no choice but to wear stuff made for guys so it’s nice to see that some brands are including ladies in on the action, too. Whether or not these ever make it out of Japan is an altogether different issue. One more look after the flip.

Tim Gunn Goes In Again On Anna Wintour!

08 September 2010, 16.42 | Posted in celebrity | No comments »

Tim Gunn when recently interviewed on Live With Regis & Kathy Lee, responded to the excerpt from his upcoming book in which he calls out Anna Wintour for having to be carried down stairs. Apparently Wintour was upset by the comments and demanded an apology through reps. The funny part was that Wintour was most upset that Gunn implied that “she doesn’t know how to work a Manolo”! Vogue.com Relaunch : We’re Like Duh…

new vogue com 600x386 Vogue.com Relaunch : Were Like Duh...

There is no denying that the blogosphere has changed  fashion and its reporting pretty much forever. Lois and myself always have these intense discussions about why a publication  like Vogue does not exploit the global historical  access  they have versus trying to compete with illustrious  fashion novelty freaks like us who do not sleep and spend our days in front of a screen.

Vogue.com the re-launch promises to have something that I have honestly prayed for, an archive that goes back to 1892 ! Allowing all that heritage to be accessible and admired. Now having looked at the site, the design is much more of the moment but it’s still trying to do what others are doing. I don’t need model off duty looks from Vogue when I have, Garance, Tommy Ton, Scott Schuman etc.  plus,  Refinery29  is already a winner in its category. Where’s the glamour and decadence?  I honestly go to Vogue for the dream,  the jaw dropping editorial.  Not  for the reality of fly-looking peers in LES or SoHo .Chime in please!
