Louboutin Leopard Print ‘Kathena’ Satchel

LouB1 Louboutin Leopard Print Kathena Satchel

Something about Louboutin and leopard print that is like a soul-mate-level match. The celebs (KimK, natch–she flashed hers at a Gucci FNO event!) have been working the clutch version of the “Kathena” hard lately, which makes sense for the red carpet, but there is something so undeniably extra about this satchel. I’ve got visions of the HS version of lunch with the ladies with this bag, some ripped up jeans, expensive lingerie and a thick gold chain or two…..heavenly. Available in Lou-B stores now.

alexander wang hair 590kb091210 540x359 Painted Hair Anyone?

Forget dyeing your hair, the trend on the catwalks is painting it. Alexander Wang and Altuzarra both used paint on the models hair for their Spring 2011 shows. Tigi stylist, Paul Hanlon, created the look for Altuzarra using neon UV paints he picked up from Camden, London, no less! Unlike bad dye jobs at least it washes out afterwards. IMG 3780 540x405 Jonathan Simkhai Spring/Summer 2011

With  flawless  set displays at the Griffin, Jonathan Simkhai presented his Spring/Summer 2011 collection yesterday. Styled by Susan Joy with a ’50s “ecolière” twist,  the pieces reflect his skill of adapting menswear into women’s wear. We loved the gold snake shorts and of course the leather bustiers as well as the various trompe l’oeil accessories like the belt (above)  resembling a shirt tied around the waist. Well edited  separates  that make a wardrobe go from ordinary to fabulously chic and fun! Tom Ford Backstage Head Shots

TomFordHeadShots Tom Ford Backstage Head Shots

Some headshots from Tom Ford’s super exclusive show have surfaced. There’s been a lot of talk about Tom “dissing the cult of immediacy,” as WWD put it, but the truth is bloggers were invited to the show and it was immediately reviewed and a handful of images immediately leaked out (from the NY Times no less!) and were available on line. I believe in brands protecting their creativity and think images released to the public should be limited or at least capitalized upon like Burberry making the collection available to purchase after its shown. But as far as Tom Ford goes, what if all the hype mainly comes down to him banning profesional photographers and limiting invitees? I mean, until we get a clear vision of the actual rags, we won’t really know will we?
