Tory Burch did a presentation of her Spring 2011 line and the videographer covers each and every outfit. Burch loosened up a bit with her resort collection, but for Spring she went back to channeling her prim side. The camera also heads backstage and pans over shoes and accesories, plus there’s an interview with Tory Burch and Kanye, flashing his new grill.
We just posted the Armani denim ad featuring Megan Fox and here’s the men’s version, called “Housekeeping” featuring super-hunky soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, whose search for his tee-shirt in his hotel room is thwarted by the maid. The theme is different but equally fun. Love that the sexes get equal treatment when it comes to their propensity to oogle. The whole campaign is such an upgrade from the usual black and white fashion video ads featuring young models looking lasciviously at the camera while flashing boob and throwing their hair around that I can’t help but hope that other designers are paying attention.
So cozy, so sexy the ksubi braid sweater can be worn alone or with layers and of course it’s black . Needleess to say we’re smitten. See more details on the next page , available at oak.
Great, adorable advertisement by Armani, featuring its denim line. Smoking hot Megan Fox stars in a spot featuring her wiggling into her jeans in a hotel room with a hotel waiter in the next room. How “the tip” plays into the storyline is ultra-fun.
As a nod to the twenties designs of Eileen Grey, All Saints creates the Alia exclusively for retailer Selfridges. Industrial and modern looking we find ourselves very attracted to them, even if it’s just stare. Only available in-store at Selfridges.
Yana Handbags and edgy downtown boutique Convent hosted a shopping party during Fashion Week to provide Yana’s signature little bags so necessary for the urban dweller on the move, and offer some fun times ! On the next page a few party images courtesy of Julia Chesky.
We wrote about this show yesterday. The grand finale was a straight-jacket wedding dress, which first appears at 8:53 if you want to jump ahead. I love how Jeremy Scott comes out in the end in wings and walks the runway like one of he models instead of the usual quick, shy wave.
Playing a little catch-up here and at the very least posting video from some of the NY Fashion Week shows we either didn’t get to and wished we could or are obsessed with and can’t stop posting about.
After the flip is the Marc Jacobs, which was pretty much perfect. Gorgeous, wearable, yet still forward garments presented in a manner befitting their elegance. [UPDATE: We have a new contributor, Zorra Jan Khan, who had this to add about the Marc Jacobs collection: "Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 collection is big, bright and beautiful! This 70s-inspired collection consists of oranges, yellows, stripes and block colours. The waistbands are high and the hems stop mid-calf, a popular choice on the catwalks this season. Jumpsuits, halter neck dresses, military style blouses and shorts were teamed with sky high wedges, whilst the hair is over-the-top volumized and the make-up was kept neutral apart from a splash of orange on the lips--HOT!"]
