We attended N.Y. trade show Compass last week and took a few images at Kathryn Amberleigh, whose use of colored suede has made her one of our favorites. Normally we post up a “Flashback Friday” video today, but sorry, this one by Eminem and Rihanna is way too hot to resist. The song is good, the participants couldn’t be more dramatically right and the video itself will strike big chords with anyone who has experienced impossible love, whether it involves physical craziness or not. Of course watch for the way Rihanna throws herself into the role, no doubt dredging back up all the emotions of one of the most significant relationships of her young life. And we wonder why entertainers are half crazy.

American Apparel may be on the verge of bankruptcy (somewhere at Jezebel an epic-sized party is being planned), but it’s still cranking out cute, relevant clothing like these cycle shorts. The reemergence of this trend has been a struggle for me, but something about the pink combined with the shorter length on this pair works. Via Popbee.

The Alexander Wang sample sale is big news, so much so that several sites are doing multiple updates and others like Ref29, whose image is featured here, are posting up style shots (which, as far as shoes are concerned it looks like flip-flop central) of those waiting in line. As always, I would like to attend, but since I can’t spare the time/enthusiasm, I am paying homage to Wang and all those waiting in line for him by wearing my Wang knock-off sweats that I bought at Nordstrom’s earlier this year.
