For a luxury shoe brand, commercial success is like a science. As much as there are the right trends to hit, the brands that we lust over have that special something that captures the heart and the mind. Manolo had it and to some extent still has his devotees, Choo came on strong but has struggled and Atwood I just don’t hear about that much. The Red Sole King has won not only because his shoes were killer but also because that red sole set him apart visibly. Dropping major cash in these financial times becomes justifiable for a visible status symbol. It’s just like the monograms and the logos. While women all over the world will always wear a plethora of lux brands, there is no denying that the average woman who splurged on an LV Speedy wants a pair of Loubous. It really can be that simple.
I say all this to introduce Cesare Paciotti ( which I shoe luv). Not at all new to the shoe game, the brand recently launched a sole art collection for Autumn/Winter 2010, where the footwear’s sole is adorned with a lace pattern as a nod to 80s glamour and corseterie. Check it out on the flip and let us know what you think?
