The colorway does not make me weak in the knees but the look and idea of sneaker fringe are a fun adaptation on a trend. Via sneakerfreaker. More views on the flip. Available at Flauge.

ashley smith christophe rihet fashiontography 1 Ashley Smith For Tank Magazine: Sexxxy!

Maybe it’s the hot and humid temps of summer, but something about this shot of major up-and-comer Ashley Smith for Tank Magazine is so smoking hot sexy it’s making my head swim, proving once again that it’s so much more about the suggestion. Photographed by Christophe Rihot and styled by Yasmine Eslami. Via Fashiontography.

LVBlameiton5 Louis Vuitton Archive Display At London Store

One of the smart things about Marc Jacobs is his ability to put the talent that surrounds him to good use. Here, via Blameitonthebogi, we see that skillset put into play with an exhibition in the new Louis Vuitton London store, which features archival items, as styled by U.K. stylist and journalist Katie Grand and photographed by David Hughes.

peacelove11 Phillipa Holland Peace&Love Earrings

In the summer somehow the sun makes me leave my ‘wannabe’ edgy self and I  literally transform into a shoeless bohemian filled with the thought  of sun, sand,  ocean and two of the most valuable aspects of life “peace & love.”  Needless to say these earrings by Phillipa Holland  spell it our perfectly. Available at Boutique 1.  A closer look on the flip.

Making Fun Of The Fashion Bloggers

Fashion Bloggers

I found these hysterical images over at FashionIndie, who pulled them from Le Petite Echo Malada, a newspaper that mock’s fashion bloggers. It’s not the first fashion blogger hate crime committed as of late. There’s been a slew, probably in part because they are an incredibly easy target. I think it’s sort of generational, too. I see the fashion bloggers as part of the “Facebook Generation,” in that online images of themselves are part of their DNA and one of the ways they communicate. Personally it’s very hard for me to get, thus my finding the above incredibly funny (omg, the birds on the tights!!). And then, too, while some of the fashion bloggers are amaaaazing, let’s face it, quite a few others deserve the jabs they’re getting.

Amber Rose Cream World Photo Shoot

Amber Rose is featured this month on the cover of Canadian pop-culture magazine Cream World. The video features behind-the-scene takes from the photo shoot. Not sure if this is developing into a theme beginning with the previous post, but….not feeling the make-up here either!

Some stills from the shoot after the flip.

VW6.jpg Neon Eye Shadow At Vivienne Westwood Runway Show

Vivienne Westwood showed her Spring/Summer 2011 Anglomania collection yesterday in Paris, a kick off of sorts to the haute couture shows next week. Definitely the make-up leaped out, and I’m sitting hear doing my best to keep my mouth shut on my opinion because on the one hand while I’m into the current trend towards brightly-colored hair and make-up for some reason I’m not liking this version. No doubt Viv is referencing the punk roots upon which her career was built, but for some reason the application strikes me as a big slap dash.

Common Projects Introduces Women’s Footwear

22 Common Projects Introduces Womens Footwear

From what I can figure in my attempts to follow the thread is that this women’s line by Common Projects was announced last year but hit retail in May, putting this post waay behind the curve. But whatever, chances are many of you didn’t see it the back then and frankly I’ve invested too much time in the post to delete it!  The line is largely menswear inspired, specifically the chukka, oxford and sneaker. The thing is, right now there isn’t a shoe company in the world–including Nike–that isn’t finding selling females sneakers as a lifestyle item (versus performance) a very tough bid. Still, the shoes are eminently wearable and exactly right for now. Do they get your vote, ladies? Many more after the flip.

hart31 Hartmann Nordenholz Autumn/Winter 2010

For Autumn/Winter 2010 Agnes Shorer and Filip Fiska of Hartmann Nordenholz continue their foray into ‘theory and craftmanship’ with  a collection titled Musterung ( Pattern), featuring to my delight,  lost of grey drapey silhouettes  and a sense of mystery. Slightly reminiscent of their Autumn 2009 take a look on the next page for more looks.
