M.I.A. is on the cover of June Complex magazine, gearing up the press push for her upcoming album release. And judging from the accompanying interview, motherhood hasn’t mellowed her a drop. She’s still intensely political and all in on various and sundry conspiracy theories. I’ll say this though, she is going to be taking an endless amount of heat given her politics because of who she married, a guy who is deeply monied and has been that way since birth.

Harkening back to her “Justify my Love” days, the shots for Madonna’s MDG sunglass campaign have recently come available. Designed in collaboration with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the range will launch this month. As many looks as Madonna has sported over the years, the theme of forbidden sex as punctuated by fishnets, retro lingerie and crucifixes, will surely go down as her signature.

In conjunction with the promo-machine for Sex and the City, stylist for the movie, Pat Field, showed a House of Field collection of swimsuits yesterday, the day after the premire for the movie. The display included both manequins and live models and took place at Hudson Terrace with the good ole Empire State Building serving as a beautiful backdrop.

Some new offerings from Los-Angeles-based designer Katy Rodriguez (who in the late ’90s co-founded New York’s Resurrection, a popular vintage store boutique), which just arrived at Opening Ceremony and this long, sheer, “Teatro” skirt stands out from the pack. One-hundred percent silk, it’s sheer, but features a slip. Not sure if the print is a flower or a big cat of some sort, either way it’s neat-o.
