Australia fashion week ranks high on my list of not only fresh designs but , as modern and edgy as it  can be  their seems to almost always be devoid of a certain sense of the dark, macabre or austere that some side of fashion tends to cling to. Randomly spotted this video last week and it make me think of girl groups and the sense of girl power that used to come accross in music, it wasn’t boy hating or even over the top sexy. It was this I’m fly , my gal pals are too and I’ m a girl kinda swag…Enjoy!

This is probably the sportswear collection all the women with an affinity for sport/street gear will love. Nike goes back to basics with sleek shapes and great details on apparel and footwear that makes this 6.0 collection highly covetable. On the next page a few of the pieces we’ll be fiending for.There’s even a zip-up bustier top!

Model Agyness Deyn and her hermana, Emily, have collaborated on a line of tees with Uniqlo as part of its ongoing UT Project (a series of limited edition tees designed in partnership with various and sundry cool folks). And while a tee-shirt collabo isn’t exactly exciting stuff, the cut and added details on these tops are actually pretty cute. And by the way, those of you who are wondering about Aggy’s little sister, she is 22, lives in New York and has a design company called HusseinDeyn.

Rugged outdoor boot looks are exploding as a trend and over the past few years Sorel has been a leader in creating looks for women that hang on to the brand’s over-50-year-old heritage while still managing to be fly and fashionable. I’m sounding like a p.r. rep, but truely, this is one of my favorite brands for 2010. P.S., no boots were received in exchange for this post!

As much as I  love that bag, the concept of quilted leather so closely associated to chanel in my head that this bag  to me desperately need double C’s. Or maybe I’m just too much of brand  DKNY Quilted leather bag  via net-a-porter.

What woman more iconic than Mary, who epitomized the power of female mystery. The inscription reads: “O Mary conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to thee.” Amen.  U.S. Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 9th. How will you celebrate the super ladies in your life?

We already posted some of our favorites from the MET, but I’m posting up this image featuring Alexander Wang in lieu of my giant screw-up post (since deleted), whereby I got all excited over an upcoming Alex X Gap collabo, which as a reader kindly informed me was from last year! Ugh. And I call myself a Wang groupie—shame on me!

Japanese culture expert, photographer and Dollfie collector Danny Choo just posted up images from a Dollfie Twitter gathering, which took place last November. Not exactly a recent even, but no less fascinating as it relates to the dolls’ details and fashion statements.
