Take a look at the Earth Day Celebration hosted by  Rogan Gregory  and Scott Mackinlay  Hahn of Loomstate at Good Units in the Hudson Hotel yesterday. The video above  highlights the ‘rain dance’ almost tribal  atmosphere created by a 40 drum ensemble led by Hisham Akira Bharoocha, it  literally took the attendants to another world. Cole Haan has long been friend to the stylish working woman, providing classic with a hint of sass footwear that is truely all-day wearable. This year the company is putting extra focus on its bags collection. Materials are more lux and designs are more thoughtful and with more of an eye on longevity. We visited the (amazingly gorgeous) New York showroom last week to check out the Fall 2010 collection and the pony skin bag featured here stood out, but there are lots more after the jump that are equally worthy.

The basic pump featuring a mid-heel height continues to assert itself as a leading fashion item and this nude, patent peeptoe “Mater Claude” version by the master himself, Christian Louboutin, perfectly epitomizes the trend, basic, yet still somehow a little flashy and in your face.

As we fall ever deeper in love with very-big-deal model Lara Stone, it’s fun to see the heavy-hitting labels do the same and watch which parts of her thoroughbred-good looks they choose to hone in on. For Giorgio Armani, it’s the eyes, fantasmically accented by her now signature bleached-out eyebrows.

At HS headquarters we recently were discussing the rising star of actress Zoe Saldana. More and more she’s popping up on red carpets wearing all the right labels and looks.  She’s featured here from a press conference for the soon-to-be-released movie, Deat at a Funeral. Supposedly, according to her Wiki page, she has her own fashion line, called Arasmaci. Not sure if her look is about having all the right stylists or getting access she didn’t have before, but I’ll be keeping an eye on this talented (loved her in Drumline), young actress.
