This one’s for my partner. That being said, Michelle looks stunning as always. The woman she’s meeting with is the First Lady of Haiti, Elizabeth Preval. I put a picture of Michelle dancing with her man after the flip for you guys as a bonus. If you’ve ever wondered what caused Barry to fall for Michelle, you can see a big part of the reason in that image. Woman is foxy!
Impressive. In an internet world where everyone has really seen it all, Lady GaGa actually managed to build up and buzz around the launch of her ‘Telephone’ video. It helped that it featured Beyonce but there was so much more to it than that, starting with the fashion, which was mind boggling in its scope and depth. Very big props to Nicola Formichetta, GaGa’s stylist, who styled the video. On his own blog, he breaks down the very loooong list of designers included in the video, including Viktor & Rolf, House of GaGa, Chanel, Thierry Mugler, Rachel Barret, Christian Louboutin, among others. In the image above, according to Formichetta, GaGa is wearing a studded jacket by Search & Destroy.
After the flip are more video stills, but if you want to see who designed what, visit Nicola’s blog.
Here’s video of the Viktor & Rolf Fall 2010 runway show, which took place in Paris a few days back. The show was entitled ‘Glamour Factory,” and according to Wallpaper, the show opened with model Kristen McMenamy dressed in 23 (!!) layers. The designers then undressed Kristen and put the garments on other models until Kristen was completely undressed. They then reversed the process and relayered her until she was back to her original multi-layered outfit. Crazy dramatic. And yep, the clothes themselves backed up all the pageantry. The one issue is that V & R staged a similar show back in 1999. Of course that was before fashion’s every move was documeted on the internet so I could see how they think it was worthy of a redo.
Reebok is collaborating with up-and-coming R&B duo Vistoso Bosses on the the ‘CL Nylon’ pack, which will launch on March 18. Click here if you’d like to see a behind-the-scenes video of the Reebok/Vistoso Bosses video shoot. I’m thinking that based on the strength of Reebok’s Shape-Up toning shoes, which completely sold to the wall after they were launched in 2009, the timing is about right for a Reebok comeback. Funny that it’s a woman’s fitness shoe that’s putting them back on the map since it was females that started it all way back in the ’80s with the legendary Freestyle aka ‘54-11s’ (the cost plus tax for the shoes.)
More pics of the young women (who are just 17-cheez, watch your backs, ladies!) after the flip, plus product images.
Took a trip to Manhattan yesterday to take a look at the Paul & Joe Sister Fall 2010 collection. Designed by Paul & Joe founder Sophi Albou, the line for fall is as whimsical as ever but there’s a certain edge about it that keeps the designs looking more wryly adult than exhuberant teen.
Check out an adorable dress featuring a Bambi print after the flip.
Good ole Chloe is on the cover of U.K. Elle’s April magazine. Have always loved this woman’s style. She’s had her share of fashion misses, but that’s only because she’s one of the few celebs willing to take a chance. Well, that and she has an eye for style. That matters because when a lot of celebs are left to their own devices they end up flopping because they simply don’t have a talent for putting an outfit together.

The incredibly sumptuous Lara Stone, the model of the moment, was interviewed by Marc Jacobs for the March issue of Interview magazine. MJ is not only an amazing designer, but he also asks good questions! What can’t this man do?? Lara was photographed by Marcus Piggot for Interview, but the source for this image is Blackeett.
My feeling is that the cropped sweatpant, only worn with heels, is a spring must-have. I imagine a third of you think I’m nutz and another third are rolling your eyes and muttering, “Hmmph, 2008 called and it wants its trend back.” Anyway, I like this pair from Funktional, which you can buy on OAKNYC. I already got a pair from Nordies, but the pockets on these (well wait, mine don’t even have pockets!) are tons better. So tell me, are you doing it? And if yes, with or without heels?
