Asos Slashed Harem Pants In the style of Cheryl Cole

26 March 2010, 16.16 | Posted in Fashion | 1 comment »

ASOS Slashed Harem Pants

As a little girl I had many tv obsessions one of them was  I dream of Jeannie. Needless to say it was all about  Jeannie’s outfit,  the midriff top, the veil and of course the pouffy pants. Seriously,  I  even  mimicked the opening cartoon  dance ( If  I lost you  wou can watch an episode here).

So when most of fashion  was Eww-ing at Harem pants all I could think about  was that  finally I could  have my Jeannie pants, and wear them in public! The task of finding the perfect pair is another story but thanks to Asos , I’m very close to perfection via their slashed version. Available for  $34 . Yes I own them. A closer look on the next page as well the version worn by the  UK’s Cheryl Cole who created quite a stir on a stage with her version.

NektardestagniFront Nektar de Stagni Accessories

More oceanic themes are popping up or rather are becoming more eye-catching as the trend continues to heat up. Nektar de Stagni’s collection of necklaces and rings is called “Snakes and Pearls,” and the designer uses bits of coral, as well sea sand, pearl and bone to create pieces that exude mystery (what is it about the ocean that creates that affect??)

More details on the collection at TheThread. More images of the collection after the flip.

Christian Louboutin Dance Video

25 March 2010, 18.07 | Posted in Shoes, advertisement, celebrity | 4 comments »

Watch an adorable, behind-the-scenes video of Chris Louboutin preparing for a dance vide0 (which can be viewed at Fashionair) that functions largely as a marketing piece for the brand–images of shoes flash along side the video as it plays. This one is actually funner as it features some interview with Christian, who reveals that this is his first time doing a coreographed dance. “I’ve been dancing like everyone in clubs and that’s about it.” Not bad, Christian!

Anne Wintour at Bill C Movie Premiere

AnneWintour1 Anne Wintour at Bill C Movie Premiere

La Diabla herself attended the Museum of Modern Art premiere of “Bill Cunningham’s New York,” and she looked her same unchanging self (which is reassuring in some way while at the same time jarring given the ever-evolving nature of fashion.) Notably absent from the red carpet images from Wire is Bill himself! Which natch, leads one to wonder if he couldn’t tear himself away from his role as street photographer for even long enough to walk his own carpet!

One more shot of Anne after the flip.

SoHo Store Fronts: March 2010

StoreFrontLouis SoHo Store Fronts: March 2010

After making my forever longed for visit to Valley Salon for a manicure (will be posting a feature later that includes an interview with co-owner Julia) I took a stroll around SoHo to snap some shots of storefronts. It was a super sunny day, which is not the best for photographing glass, but ehh, I want to make this a regular feature so I went with what I could get to get the ball moving.

What’s surprising is how crummy some of the windows are and not just because they need a good wash. Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu were fantastic (as they usually are),  and I especialy admired how the LV window recalled themes from the Spring 2010 show.  But given their usually impeccable runway presentations, I was a little disappointed by Chanel and very disappointed by Burberry.

After the flip find more images of the retailers mentioned here, plus Tokidoki (predictable) and TopShop (totally average).
