KLoopFemaleMonth Designer Melody Ehsani: Chick of the Month at Karmaloop

Karmaloop honors a different woman each month on its blog and for March they chose accessory designer Melody Ehsani. Her line is very tough, but still fun and original. Kind of like she takes the piss out of the whole fashion-hard-edge theme by giving it a big tickle in the ribs. The interview she gives on the site is great. Of course you should check out her store on Karmaloop, too.

Amber Rose in Gotham Magazine

AmberGothamMag Amber Rose in Gotham Magazine

Amber Rose is featured in this month’s issue of Gotham magazine, in a feature entitled “Bright Young Things.” The theme up-and-coming New Yorkers, modeling the best of spring fashion. In the image featured above (which also includes Olympians Tim Morehouse and Jason Rogers), she’s wearing a Moschino dress and an amazing pair of Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

It’s been interesting to watch Amber’s career develop. Kanye obviously has been a major springboard so one has to wonder what will happen should he disappear from the scene. It’s been my observation that women have greater staying power when they are the ones in charge of their career moves. Yes, many of the most notable divas in history were ushered in by male mentors, but it seems the great ones at some point or another had a moment where they fought for and won creative control. Will Amber eventually do the same? Hope so.

ChanelStrawBag Chanel Straw Bag

Even though I’m al ittle mad at Chanel these days (too many of those gross totes with the giant Cs, plus Karl seems to be in a bit of a funk), this bag is still pretty amazing. Like the Jil Sander shoes I posted about yesterday, I also found it in New York Time’s T magazine.

LadyGaGaMacVivaGlam1 Lady GaGa at Mac Viva Glam Event

Lady GaGa appeared at Mac Viva Glam event in London yesterday. I like the outfit because it’s a GaGa classic, in that it includes three looks she has really pushed to the forefront of edgy fashion: the bodysuit, eye mask and (though it’s to a lesser degree), shoulder pads. She and Sharon Osbourne were both there as part of their efforts to help raise money for the MAC AIDS fund.

Images from Wire. More of Lady GaGa, including close-ups on her accessories and shoes, after the flip.

Keri Hilson Looking All Glamourous !!!

keri cover 540x443 Keri Hilson Looking All Glamourous !!!

Between 2008- and 2009 I think I have seen Keri Hilson photographed alot to a point where her face was familiar before her music. She has worn some very cool looks ranging from edgy cool to even streetwear inspired. However I don’t think I have seen her look this glamourous.Bravo!  If there is a stylist  tough he  or she gets a little slap on the wrist for the boring black pumps. Shoes are too fierce nowadays to put a red carpet celebrity in anything but fabulousness. More images on the flip via wire during the Naacp awards.

JilSanderShoe Jil Sander Laser Cut Wood Wedge Shoes

How insane are these Jil Sander woodland wedges? Good crazy of course, though I do believe you might need a step ladder to climb into them! They were featured in New York Time’s T Magazine, whose theme is spring fashion for women. You can view the entire issue on line, including the many ads, which are like a who’s who in label heavy hitters.
